Rating: Summary: Book Review by Echoed Voices Review: Author David Allen Hulse brings us a mystery in his fourth book, New Dimensions for the Cube of Space. Mr Hulse, a scholar of ancient languages and a Qabalistic Adept, reveals the secrets of the long forgotten, mysterious Cube of Space formed from the 22 letters of the ancient Hebrew alphabet. New Dimensions for the Cube of Space: The Path of Initiation Revealed by the Tarot upon the Qabalistic Cube is designed to bring new insight to the study of both Qabalah and Tarot. By matching the 22 cards of the Major Arcana to the ancient Hebrew letters, Mr Hulse defines the components that form the Cube, revealing a map that clearly shows where we have come from, where we are now, and where we are going in our evolutionary journey toward spiritual awakening. Follow Mr Hulse as he explains how this cube of letters reveals its deepest secrets when linked to the major Arcana of the Tarot, creating a map of the cosmos known as the Cube of Space. The book is full of easy to follow graphs and tables for colors, elements, planets, and Tarot-to-Qabalistic correspondences. There is even a pull out so that the reader may have their own cube, a real plus in enhancing insight. Although not a book for the beginner, New Dimensions for the Cube of Space is a must have for the Adept. Come and explore these hidden secrets to gain insight into yourself. David Allen Hulse is a man of vision waiting on the world to catch up. For all of us, I do hope it's soon. M.L. Benton, Publisher, Echoed Voices. Copyright © September, 2001
Rating: Summary: Awesome book on Kabbalah, tarot, and the spiritual journey Review: Earlier this century, Paul Foster Case (of the Golden Dawn tradition) was able to fill in a few missing pieces to the knowledge then held about the Cube of Space, and building upon his discoveries, David Allen Hulse has taken the Cube to another level, discovering a definite story told by tarot cards placed correctly in its 22 positions. This story is one of initiation, and I was fascinated to watch the author describe my own spiritual journey with uncanny accuracy. I believe the story can help any readers see where they have been, where they stand, and where they next need to go. And not only does Mr. Hulse describe this journey, but he also uses the tarot symbolism to pick up on subtleties we may not have noticed about our own journeys; by looking at the principles behind the path, he helps to show how it is we can progress.
Rating: Summary: Useful and Inspiring Review: Familiarizing ourselves with the 'spatial' dimensions of the Major Arcana of the Tarot deck help us appreciate the archetypes within, such as the Fool and the Emperor, in a much more substantial way and grounding way. The author of this book carefully charts the course of incarnating onto the earth plane, the perils involved in such a journey but also the means to excarnate as well through the Cube of Space and its many facets. For anyone interested in expanding their awareness of Tarot and how it applies to the spiritual path, this is a most useful and inspiring book.
Rating: Summary: A historical point in my spiritual awakening Review: I bought 'New Dimensions for the Cube of Space' as soon as I saw it in my bookstore. This book created a reversal in my personal cosmic consciousness, which amazed me. I read the whole book in one go, because it was very easy to read and never stopped being fascinating. After reading it once, I kept taking it everywhere to read over the best passages. People started asking me about it and it got me into some very interesting conversations. Anyone interested in the Cube of Space, the Tarot and/or personal development should own this book in my opinion. A great gift for young and old. I am looking forward to his next book!
Rating: Summary: An exciting, crystal clear map of the Path! Review: I loved this book! It is very well written - fun and easy to read, yet packed FULL of insight on the Tarot and how the cards relate and chronicle the spiritual path we are all on. As a relative "newcomer" to the Path, I have found this book to be invaluable. I was amazed at how my own spiritual progress (so far) closely parallels the author's explanation of the soul's journey around the Cube of Space. The book not only provided logical explanations for some past events in my life, but also has given me a wondrous glimpse of where I am headed and what to expect. Also, the book comes with a colorful cut out of the Cube that is a great visualization aid. (I only wish all books of this flavor where so clear......!)
Rating: Summary: Author's review of New Dimensions for the Cube of Space Review: In the summer of 1969, I pursued my first studies of the Qabalistic diagram known as the Cube of Space. I fashioned a three dimensional cube complete with 22 colored Tarot cards at the appropriate directions of the cube. From this initial intense meditation I was able to discern a path around the faces of the cube that made sense by the Tarot symbolism at each direction. My insights were put into a pamphlet which never saw the light of publication. 26 years later, I fell ill in the summer of 1995 for a week. During my illness I was guided to write the story of the cube again. I had an unfinished manuscript that I began in the early 80's, but the inner voice that awakened me to my task urged me to discard the complex Qabalistic symbolism I was trying to track around the cube. Instead I was to write a simple story with the reader directly involved in the text. I was to tell the journey of the Fool (which is the Higher Self) around the 6 faces of the cube of space. When referring to the Tarot cards in the text, I was guided to use only the simple titles. It was to be written for anyone to read. When I became well again, I retired to my magical study and wrote the manuscript by hand in 3 days. The final work numbered 149 pages. For the next 2 years I worked diligently to illustrate the text as best I could. I had the help of a local talented artist who understood the Qabalah and the Tarot. With her steady hand she realized on a computer both my concept of a full color cube of space in three dimensions and as a folding origami cube. When this manuscript reached both B.O.T.A. and Samuel Weiser, Inc. there was no delay in its acceptance and approval. Once I realized my vision in words, its publication was destined, unlike any previous version I had written on this philosophical cube. Now after 31 years of dedicated research, the diligent reader will finally be able to make sense of the 22 directions that compose the Cube of Space. Included at the back of the book is an actual folding model of the Cube of Space, correctly colored and adorned with the proper Tarot cards at each direction. This will greatly facilitate the visualization required in the text to fully understand this wonderful roadmap of the soul.
Rating: Summary: The Path of Return Review: New Dimensions for the Cube of Space by David Allen Hulse has awakened in me a desire to further explore the inner meaning of life and why we are hear and where our Spiritual Journey will take us. My studies started many years with Paul Case's version of the Ancient Tarot but this little volume goes further and explains much more about the Tarot than is known to most enlightened people. I highly recommend it to even a neophyte of the "Sacred Path of Return" to where we came from and where we are going.
Rating: Summary: Very good overview of the diferent stages of Awakening Review: This book help me to understand the many phases of Awakening we go through as we go inward to find and be our self's... As a student of the B.O.T.A. school it gave me another point of view of the many things I have learned over the years with B.O.T.A. and gave me new understanding of what to do to finish one of my stages of awakening in this life....
Rating: Summary: Instructions Review: This book is NOT for someone who is not in tune with Qabala.I am still looking for instructions HOW TO.For someone who is deep in to study of Qabala it may be OK, however simple instructions would have been a great help.
