Rating: Summary: Enlightening - Empowering! Review: I found this book to be extremely powerful in it's message. It's no-nonsense approach goes straight to the heart of the matter. He tells it like it is, keeping within the confines of the spiritual laws that govern our lives. This is a golden nugget I am passing on to others, hoping it's as helpful to them as it was to me. If after reading this book you find you don't like it (it made you feel uncomfortable in some way?) then perhaps it's because it's message has stirred up some residue that needs to be dealt with. This book's message is about changing and streamlining the most precious commodity we have - our own lives! It's about taking stock of what we're doing and how we're doing it and why, then showing you how to stop doing what's not working and get on with life. I was definitely blessed by reading this book. Thank you, TD Jakes. (I would love to do a Spanish translation for my Spanish speaking friends in South America who can't read English.)
Rating: Summary: Outstanding! Review: I have always admired this man, T.D. Jakes. I feel his teaching is superb and his insights of the Word of God excellent. In this book, I was not disappointed in the knowledge he shared.
In this work, he teaches how to overcome damaging effects from relationships, fears and many other obstacles that life has put in our path. He teaches the Biblical principles and how we can turn around hurtful life experiences and use them to our advantage. I found the information he shares very useful and informative, written in a clear, easy to understand manner.
This is a great book that you will turn to time and time again for encouragement and wisdom. Recommended!

Rating: Summary: MAXIMIZE THE MOMENT Review: ON THE SHELF NEXT TO THE BIBLE. EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THIS BOOK. IT'S GREAT.
Rating: Summary: A Down to Earth Balanced book for all Who Need a plan Review: Once again T D Jakes has touched my heart and soul by writing such an insightful balanced book that is full of ground breaking truth about how to look at life and live it to its full potential. In a day and time when there is so much dysfunction in the body of christ, this book brings back the balance for anyone who is strung out on extremes of spiritual mumbo jumbo. Mazimizing the Moment paints a clear balanced picture of how to handle our everyday lives, other people, and different situations whether bad or good, and teaches you how to gain insight into how we should put our plan in the hands of God who has blessed us with great unrealized potential. Anyone who reads this marvelous, down to earth account of God's plan for our lives will come away enlightened. Many unanswered questions will be answered. Thankyou for sharing your heart and personal life in this book because now I know that life is about maximizing my moments. Again this book has set me free in many ways and I suggest everyone read it before they enter the winter of their lives. Thank you for telling us how to appreciate ourselves and start living instead of existing.
Rating: Summary: A Must Read Review: The Bishop has a way of making you feel as though he is talking directly to you. He is extremely powerful in the words that he uses to tell you to "get it together".But more than that, he teaches you how to take control of your life and remain in the will of God. I enjoyed the book mainly because it gave me an opportunity to evaluate myself through the eyes of a 3rd person. If you think you have it all together, that you have the world by the horns, READ this book. It will help you put things in perspective. If you have lost control of your life and find yourself to be a People Pleaser instead of a God Pleaser....Read this Book. You will come away with a new attitude..promise.
Rating: Summary: This is just the thingto get the body of christ on the move! Review: The book seems to be missing one critical ingredient - how does one determine his/her life's purpose. Jakes writes eloquently about the need to pursue, without reservation, the purpose for which God placed you on earth. Unfortunately, he leaves out details of the most important subject in the book. Without knowing your purpose in life, his teachings have little practical value. After all, you may take aim and hit your target 10 of 10 times, but if it's the wrong target, what have you accomplished?
Rating: Summary: Written with the wisdom of King Solomon Review: This book is absolutely excellent! It is the best book, next to the Bible, that I have ever read. Bishop Jakes honestly wrote this book like he was King Solomon. It is filled with wisdom- both practical and spiritual. If you love wisdom like I do, you will love this book. I wish I could pour this book on everyone that I come in contact with. I have a two-year old and a three-year old, and I am going to require that they read it when they get older, not only because I am homeschooling them, but because I want them to be as informed about life as possible. Its content reveals truth that is applicable to every facet of life. It talks about relationships/associations, making wise decisions, knowing yourself... It is a book for people of purpose. Don't just take my word for it; read it for yourself.

Rating: Summary: Great Start Review: This book is great for those seeking motivation. The author made me feel as if he was talking to me directly. Many topics discussed in this book were issues I had faced in my life at one time or another and I could really connect to the author. I completed this book in three days and I am ready for another motivational book by this author. I found it hard to separate myself for the pages of this book. T.D.Jakes is a inspiring author. This book lets everyone know how important it is to maximize everyday. I would advise anyone who seeks motivation or who needs inspiration in order to whether a storm needs to pick up this book.
Rating: Summary: Powerfully Motivational! Review: This excellent book stirs one on to productive activity for God. The issue address is that of the quality of one's life. Jakes writes, "...the question isn't how long we live but how well we live. What matters are the moments we live life to the fullest." That theme is eloquently explored throughout the remainder of the book. Essentially maintaining a high level of quality in life relates to making the right choices consistently. "Choosing which to respond to and which to ignore help you to maximize your life," Jakes points out.Adequately eliminating some things is one wise decision that can be made. We're encouraged to cut off things that aren't working in our lives. Like other writers in this genre, the author believes God created each of us uniquely for specific purposes to be accomplished in our lives during our time on earth. A creative discussion of desire is developed. He equates it with intensity or passion, noting "intensity focuses on how badly we want it while objectives focus on the specificity of what we want." He couples relationship development with passion for goal attainment and advises not to partner with people who lack passion for the vision. Diversity in relationships add depth that would otherwise be missing. Healthy relationships result when strengths are exchanged he tells us. His section on the necessity of rest is particularly refreshing. Not only is it essential to proper health, but it enables one to enjoy the journey. This wonderful book is so full, so rich, so delightful that a review can't capture the fullness of the inspiration it brings. This is the type of reading successful people do. I had heard the author speak on TV on several occasions. In reading this book I saw a depth to him that oral delivery can't portray. He writes in such a way that you KNOW he's a reader. Buy this book! You'll have a richer life if you apply its teachings.
