Review: This little booklet (8" x 5" & 93 pages)is one of the best study guides on Proverbs for small groups I have seen. It makes a great supplement to a more in-depth commentary. Vinita Wright speaks clearly and is well organized and practical. She uses two top translations-the NIV and NRSV. 12 studies are offered and include suggestions for group leaders and members on how to get the most out of their study time together. For an in-depth companion commentary on Proverbs get THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO THE BOOK OF PROVERBS by Cody Jones. The comments are interesting and very readable and put things into a historical setting. It includes many historical drawings and photos to give you a sense of the culture of the time. There is a topical guide and 6 translations in parallel to aid understanding.
