Summary: Extremely useful, helpful information.
Review: Dr. Hirsch hit the nail on the head with this book. I love books that are scripture based! This book will never leave my library.

He has a great way of pulling together serious issues with just the right amount of humor to keep you hooked on reading more.

It is definitely not sleeping material. It is extremely useful, helpful information that if used will make changes in your life!

Thank you, Dr. Hirsch, for actually writing this book, not just trying to.

Summary: Truely inspiring and a great help
Review: Dr. Hirsch is a brillient writer. The cocepts shared in this book will not only revolutionize the life of the reader, but as you put into practice what is set forth in Success by Design those around you will also be affected. While reading, chapter 2 stood out to me so much so that I started trying to find ways to not only implement these truths into my own life, but also in the lives of my students. Dr. Hirsch is correct when he says that 'The people we are and everything we do are inspired by our purpose and our values'. If you don't know what your particular values and what your purpose is, then this book is definately a must. This book makes you take a long hard look at your life for the good.

Summary: Wonderful Book!
Review: I attend Dr. Peter Hirsch's congregation in Dallas, TX, and have witnessed first-hand the love this man has for the L-rd. He has only been a believer for about four years, but he has a wisdom and knowledge that surpasses many believers who have been walking with the L-rd for decades. He is a very motivational person, and all his methods are Christ-centered, which is what makes this book stand out from the other motivational-type books out there. This man has a godly character, is humble, is grounded firmly in the Word and has a passion to share the Good News of Christ with the whole world (including his own people of the Jewish faith). His testimony is incredible. I say all this about Dr. Hirsch in order to help the reader understand that this book was written by a man who loves the L-rd with all his heart, and so the material that is in this book is sound and biblically based. Peter's steps for finding success are steps we all need to implement in our own lives, so we can achieve that G-d-given potential He has planned and desires for each and every one of us.....

Summary: Free to Succeed in Christ
Review: I have read many great books on success. This is one of the very few that motivated me to pursue my dreams and desires-without guilt-while at the same time motivating and inspiring me to have
a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. Truly life changing. Most success books out there deal with success principles but deal very little with the Christian faith. The ones that do deal with the Christian faith always seem to leave me wondering if my desires and ambitions are ok. This book strikes a perfect balance on success and the Christian faith. It left me energized and motivated to go out and pursue my purpose and goals with passion and also the desire to have a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.

Summary: Not Just Another Self-Help Book!
Review: Success By Design isn't a "self-help", "power of positive thinking" book. I would call this book more of an inspirational type book that points out guide posts in the Bible and prayer. The gentleman who wrote this book has definitely "been-there, done-that" as far as success is concerned, at least twice.

His testimony at the beginning of the book is a real eye-opener that sets the scene for the rest of this book. Each chapter is written with insight, whit and the guidance of the Bible. There are a couple of chapters that I will be re-reading because they are where I know I need to focus.

The subtitle of the book is interesting, "Ten Biblical secrets to help you achieve your God-given potential", but these aren't really secrets after all since everything you need to succeed is in the Bible and prayer will lead you to those secrets. However, this book is a wonderful inspiration to get you going in the right direction, should you need a good road map. The 10 chapters are about each "secret", those being challenge, belief, purpose, fearlessness, attitude, focus, commitment, desire, goals and choice.

The epilogue is very thought-provoking in that the author points out boldly the problem with success seminars, books, etc, in being that you have to go back into the world with all your newly found inspiration and excitement and it can take the "wind from your sails". However, the real success by design is in being a child of God and following Him, then you will have success in this life and the next.
