Rating: Summary: Glad I bought it used Review: After reading the reviews, I decided to take a chance and buy an inexpensive used version of this book just in case that it brings no benefits like many here claim. I'm glad now that I made that decision. The book gives very little support for its claims, and in fact spends much time discussing the history of memory more than actual supporting studies. The techniques are not detailed very well and often are difficult to understand fully. They give techniques for many off-topic subjects, such as waking up without an alarm clock. They don't tell where they get the sources for their information. The actual names of the authors of this book aren't even listed. Despite these flaws, I put my faith into these techniques. I used them for over a period of 3 months, with absolutely no improvement in my memory at all. I finally gave up, knowing this book was claiming something that was false.
Rating: Summary: do not buy Review: Don't waste your money by buying this small pamphlet. It isn't a book but rather a few pages stapled together probably costing only a few cents to make. It attempts to cover far too much information in its few pages and therefore the techniques aren't explained in any detail and are therefore useless. What's more, psychologists have pretty much proven that photographic memories do not actually exist and therefore the claims are bogus. The first two reviewers are in all probability part of the group of people trying to rip people off of there hard owned money so they themselves can afford to live in pacific palisades where the supposed company is based.
Rating: Summary: Not for MEMORY only, but for the modus operandi of the MIND! Review: For those who read it once: Read it once more! But, try to contemplate on what it is saying, what it is trying to say.. This could be a good beginning to start thinking in a different pattern. But, it is not suitable for those who do not want to think! It is not suitable for those who want complex ideas out of complex words! Not suitable for those who want some fish, either, but for those who try to learn fishing! It is YOUR responsibility to witness what it brings to your life.. START FROM SOMEWHERE! DO NOT SLEEP!! YOU ARE SLEEPING FOR OVER THOUSAND YEARS!!!! It could give you some "little clues" for the beginning.. But, do not stay there.. Go further.. Be a student!! You think you know SO much. But you know TOO much!!
Rating: Summary: It works... only of you keep at it Review: Like some of the other reviewers that have had success with it it does take persistence to realize the results. Although the book does lack a bit in the presentation (more like a booklet) the information provided is very useful and does work. It took me about a week before I noticed modest improvements. I almost gave up but decided what the heck so stuck with it. After about 5 weeks I noticed dramatic improvements in my memory. I did the exercises 2 times a day at the least. I wouldn't say I have a photographic memory but I do remember large quantities of data, often times I only need to glance at a page of a book to memorize it. It's just like any other skill, you have to keep at it and you get better and better. Don't expect to use it a few days and then toss it out if you don't see any results. I don't work for the company and am not affliated in any way. Just stick with it.
Rating: Summary: ... Review: Not only does this book show you the INSTANT MEMORY technique, it also covers the following topics:"How to release your photographic memory" "The secret of passing examinations" "How to play any musical instrument" "How to win at sports" "How to overcome timidity, self-consciousness and lack of confidence" "How to overcome stage-fright" "How to conquer fatigue and depression" "How to win at card games, chess, etc" "How to overcome unwanted habits" "How to unlock forgotten memories" "How to find lost articles" "How to awaken without an alarm clock" "How to give a speech" "How to increase your powers of observation" "The secret of speed reading" Really, I'm not joking, these are the actual chapter titles. Does this sound a bit unrealistic for a 60 page book? Actually, it's more like a 60 page pamphlet stapled together with the isbn stamped on the front cover. ...
Rating: Summary: Instant Anger Review: This book is a complete sham! The low price and promising improvements lured me to purchase this 60 page pamphlet. The two 5 star ratings are no doubtedly from authors, company workers, or the like. Either way - "STEER CLEAR" - Don't think twice about this book. I benefited in absolutely no way from this text.
Rating: Summary: Memory Power for real Review: This book is great if you stick with it. If I was to have reviewed this book after the first week then I would have given it 1 star because it simply didn't work for me. But I stuck with it and finally it did work for me. You are pretty much reprogramming your subconscious mind to allow you to recall massive amounts of information effortlessly. Since it usually takes most people about 27 days to make a major change in your subconscious, expect results in about a month. Anyone else who reviews this book will probably either give it 1 star or 5 because it is simply hit or miss. But, just like me, if you don't give up, you'll finally get it. Once their technique finally 'clicks' you'll love it and your memory will be almost photographic. You will be amazed how easy it is to effortlessly recall an entire lecture verbatim. Its so simple, you'll be amazed.
