The Religious Experience (5th Edition)

Summary: A Good book
Review: This is a good book for understanding a majority of the major religions. He covers the ancient belief systems, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism (the various forms), and likewise with Buddhism, Confucianism, etc. He then gets into modernity. He should have covered Marxism better, but there are better books that you can get to check out. I used this book for my college comparative religion class. It's good and sort of difficult reading. He mentions a lot of terms without clearly explaining what they are. For example, He talks briefly about "Dream Time"... but doesn't really talk about what it is. He alludes to it a few times trying to explain it, but doesn't get the point across very well. So, as a whole, i think it's a great reference book (i'm not reselling mine); just keep in mind you'll need a glossary handy :)
