Summary: Magnificent, understandable, simple book on healing prayer
Review: The author is a seasoned pilgrim on the road of healing prayer. In the early 60s, she was one of the first Roman Catholic laywomen who embarked on the journey of seeking answers to the questions Jesus had placed on her heart regarding healing. She has been faithful to the Lord's call these many years. I have known Barbara since the late 70s and have been blessed by her ministry in many ways. She is tender, gentle & compassionate in her manner. Her healing ministry is anointed by the Holy Spirit & powerful in the Lord, Jesus. It is from this place that she shares this book.
Barbara supports the belief that all Christians are called to pray for healing. Her book helps individuals to explore the aspects of healing prayer, plus the obstacles that could be encountered. Healing prayer for oneself or another requires seeking God's will for each situation in knowing how to pray. As a true seeker of God's will in her own life, and knowledgeable after so many years in ministry, she succinctly walks the reader through the process of learning to grow in discernment. Through the use of accounts of actual case histories, the author personalizes her writing with valuable examples of authentic prayer occasions.
Uncomplicated in style, and well grounded in scripture, Barbara assists the reader to more fully understand inner healing, the need for forgiveness, grief and loss, the body-mind connection, and confronting spiritual warfare. She discusses individual healing prayer and healing prayer at group meetings.
In addition, her book is full of prayers for the reader to use in connection with the various chapter subjects. A special Inner Healing Prayer is included which walks the person back from their moment of conception, touching upon generational healing, and bringing the person through their formative years.
This book will be helpful to all people of prayer - to those who feel a longing to pray for healing and do not know how to begin, even if only in their personal lives, as well as to those experienced prayer ministers who wish to rejuvenate their calling.
