Summary: Three Incredible Stories
Review: I have read Beguiled and Wanton many times and in Fallen Angels I enjoyed reading them both once again.
In Beguiled, PI Dane Carter assumes his brother Derek's identity, to discover who murdered his twin. Along the way he meets Angel and is drawn into her life. The relationship between Dane & Angel is so special, a very tender romance and it just continues to grow. We are introduced to Alec & Celia from Wanton and Mick from Caught in the Act.Wanton is pure heat!! Alec & Celia spar and love with such intensity. Celia is the only person who can drive Alec crazy with frustration, and crazy with lust. While trying to protect Celia from the bad guys, Alec is strong and tough and then with Celia he is fun and loving. A perfect man! Alec is one of my favorite hero's and Celia is the only one strong enough to stand up to him. A perfect match! Also included is a new story, Uncovered. Harris Black is sexy, brave and a good friend to Clair Caldwell. The last thing he wants is to settle down and get married, or so he thinks... In Uncovered, Harris is searching for a mystery woman, unaware that she is already a part of his life. When he finds out who the mystery women is... Well you will have to read that part for yourself. I loved it and good friends really do make the best lovers. It is very clever how the characters from Wanton & Beguiled are woven into the new story, Uncovered. It was just a pure joy to read, these characters will be hard to leave behind. Thank you Lori Foster for another book I will read over & over & over again.

Review: I started this book a couple months ago only reading the 1st. 2, Beguiled (Dane & Angel) bk. 1 & Wanton (Alex & Celia) bk. 2 They being part of the PI series which was fantastic. Mick (Caught in the act) bk. 3 links these 2 & the next 2 in the series (Treat her right & Mr. November) bks. 4 & 5.
Men of courage (Ethan & Rosie) is next, although I didn't know was linked to those above at the time of reading it. Then we have "Riley". Finally I get to the last book in this anthology "Uncovered" (Harris & Claire).
This one had me in stitches laughing. Harris is called to a fire. His friend Ethan firnds a box of photo's of a naked lady presumed to be posing. Because Ethan is married Harris takes them of him. Claire, Harris's neighbour sees them & is mortified. The next day when Claire gets to work for Dane & Alex she finds Harris there with the pictures. There are also some handwritten notes about Harris. Harris is desperate to find out who the mystery woman is. None of the men can understand Claire's reaction to seeing them spread out over the office. Dane & Alex even have them blown up to see if they can find some distinguishing marks.
It is only when Angel & Celia go into the office & see the pictures all over the wall that they recognise who it is. Men are sometimes so thick, they can't see what's under there noses. As this is happening Harris is about to go into the back office to stop them searching for her & Claire is about to walk into the shop. When she does the look they give her is pricless. They just don't know where to look. Harris is mortified as well as angry. 3 other men have seen those pictures of Claire & he is going to marry her. 2 of the men are her bosses. How will he live this down. They are by this time shouting all the personal details of what has gone on the night before & everyone can hear. Alex buts in a couple of times while they are still shouting.
After getting his presumptions wrong Harris finds out its an ex of Clair's who took the photos without her knowledge & that he has been doing it to others as well.
Lori says in the front of this book that "Uncovered" is the funniest book she has wrote & she is right. In future whenever I think about it it will have me cracking up.
The next in the series is Buck's story in "The truth about cats & dogs". My copy shoud be here next week. I can't wait.

Review: In Fallen Angels we are treated to two past Lori Foster favorites Beguiled and Wanton plus a new story, Uncovered. Dane Carter PI returns to his family business posing as his recently deceased twin, Derek. Only family members know about Derek's death. Derek betrayed Angel Morris so she is at the top of Dane's suspect list. Dane isn't prepared for the feelings Angel invokes in him and that she has had Derek's son. As Dane (as Derek) grow closer so does the danger. Angel is stunned to learn of Dane's deception but her feelings for this man are deeper. Dane and Angel's romance is steamy and powerful. Wanton's Alec Sharpe is a PI with Dane Cater. He is trying to keep Celia (Dane's sister) out of trouble. Alec has always felt this intense attraction to Celia but never acted on it. Celia is determined to prove herself to her family but mostly she needs to prove something to herself. She wants to prove she can be a PI and solve a missing person case. Alec agrees to help her on one condition, that he can changer her feelings about sex. Alec's lesions are some of the steamiest. As they work to solve the case, they come to realize how well they work as a couple. Each of their encounters is more stimulating verbally as well as passionate. Firefighter Harris Black in Uncovered comes across nude pictures of a woman with letters that are referring to feelings for him. He hires a local PI firm to find her. Harris doesn't realize that his best female friend Clair is the woman he is looking for. Claire Caldwell is mortified to see pictures a former boyfriend took with out her knowledge in Harris's hands. She decides to pursue Harris since he wants to find this mystery woman. When Claire turns up the heat things really start to sizzle and smolder. Harris and Clair have an amazing bond. Their attraction to each other grabs you and makes you want for more. Uncovered is another out of this world Foster book.

Summary: What happened Lori?
Review: Lori, Lori, Lori, what happened? This is by far the worst book that I have read by her. Not only were the female characters weak and whiny, they were stupid as well. Foster doesn't even bother to justify the horrible lies of the heroes, the heroines just accepts that he knows what is best for them. The first story has the hero playing the heroine like a fool, and when she finds out that he has lied about everything she shrugs it off. She just accepts the fact that the hero is the twin brother of her lover, even though he slept with her pretending to be someone else.The second story is even more disturbing, the heroine acts like becoming a PI is as easy as joining a social club. She has no mean of protecting herself, yet she throws herself into the scene determined to "help a girl in trouble". She is deathly afraid of anyone looking at her in a sexual manner, yet she tries to close a prostitution ring by posing as a potential "working girl". It was horrible!!! And the mostly virgin theme is so pronounced it makes me want to puke. I don't have a problem with the age-old theme of the man being the most experienced, I just didin't like the fact that these "mostly virgins" were so free to barter their bodies for "protection" even though they disliked sex and/or were afraid of it. The final story was by far the best, and even it was mediocre.

Review: One of the first Lori Foster books I ever read was BEGUILED and WANTON. I thoroughly enjoyed reading them and got hooked on Ms. Foster's writing. Now, with her continued success on the best selling lists, Harlequin has rereleased those two, along with a new short story. BEGUILED is the story of Dane Carter and Angel Morris. He knows that she is somehow mixed up in his twin brother's death, and he is determined to find out how and why, and bring her to justice. However, he finds that he is attracted to her, and soon realizes that she is a victim, and a target, which he needs to protect. I loved the character of Dane, as he is one of my all time favorite heroes, as is the story of him and Angel. A very enjoyable tale of love and mistaken identities. WANTON continues with the story of Alec Sharpe, Dane's friend, and Celia Carter, Dane's sister. In the first story you met the two, and instantly noticed the simmering attraction between the two. In WANTON, it boils over into hot, sizzling action. Celia decides she wants to be a PI, just like her brother and his friend, but all she seems to do to Alec is get in the way. He decides to keep an eye on her and boy, does he ever get to. Again, this was another story that ended up my keeper shelf, just like the first one. UNCOVERED is the new story in this book. It is about Harris Black, who we first met in the anthology, MEN OF COURAGE, as the firefighter friend of Ethan. For the first time we are introduced to Clair Caldwell, the secretary for Dane and Alec. Clair and Harris are good friends, but does he really know her when he sees her...in the flesh? There are some risqué pictures found and she immediately recognizes them as being of her, but he doesn't. The story is funny, as he tries to figure out who the shapely woman is in the pictures, and she tries to dissuade him from finding out. As usual, Lori Foster combines wit with sensuality to make a very good story. I have to say that my only complaint is that it was too short. Would've loved a longer story, as I found Harris and Clair's story very entertaining and fun. Even if you have read both BEGUILED and WANTON before, you need to add this to your collection, as these are three of her best written stories. The chances are that you will not see UNCOVERED show up in another book or as a stand alone, and you don't want to miss out on reading it. FALLEN ANGELS would be a great addition to any Lori Foster collection.

Dane and Alec are two of Ms. Foster's sexiest and well loved heroes! The original story in this anthology, UNCOVERED was a blast to read!
