Review: I have read all of Cheryl Holt's books and have enjoyed them very much. This book, however, I cannot recommend to anyone. It was truly awful. I actually felt the author insulting my intelligence with this wafer thin plot. I can't begin to tell you how many times I wanted to scream at the characters. JUST TELL HIM WHAT'S GOING ON, YOU MORON! Seriously. This is just an awful book. It would like to be erotic but after about the first 50 pages it is not; it would like to be romantic but the most believable romance in the book is between the older characters; it would like to be suspenseful and unpredictable but if you are genuinely surprised by the ending then you obviously don't read much.I truly felt this was an awful book, poorly executed, and obviously written only to satisfy a publisher and not a loyal reader. I have given it 2 stars because Cheryl Holt is a better author than this book would indicate.

Review: I love reading erotic romances, the steamier the better! I'd not read any of Cheryl Holt before and when I found this one at the used bookstore, I thought I'd give her a try. I wasn't disappointed and I intend to read Holt's other books as well. Only one quibble, however. out of the three couples in the book, I would have preferred the main focus to have been on Winnie and Edward, whom I found a much more interesting match than Phillip and Olivia.

Summary: Frustrating, but I finished it.
Review: I really wanted to like this book, and over-all, it wan't bad. I liked the general story line and the potential for what it could develop into. I had a hard time liking the characters, or even being able to accept their faults. Now, I love a good conflict, people mucking up and having to work their way to the moon and back to fix it, but at times the story seemed so forced. I also thought that the 'love' scenes could have been more entertaining, though they were better than average.

Summary: One of the BEST Chery Holt Books!! Very Sexy!!
Review: I was determined not to like this book - just because I was mad that it wasn't going to be about the secondary characters (Ian and Caro) from Complete Abandon. But Cheryl is one of my fave authors so I snatched it up as soon as it was available and read it in 24 hours. I just could not put it down - even when the sun began to rise and I realized I had been up all night reading. The storylines that are going on: Olivia/Phillip, Edward/Winnie and Penny/Freddie as well as Margaret's manipulations was so was perfect!! The characters were great!! Cheryl has the amazing talent to create characters that you just love to hate while you are reading. I'm giving fair warning: If you do not like sexy/steamy books then you will not like this - the erotic feel of the book starts on the very first page. But if you love a more racy read! You will find this book irresistable! I am looking forward to Phillips' Sister's book coming out in the Fall.

Review: If you like steamy scenes and scenes that make you gasp out loud, then this is the book for you! I started this book in the late afternoon, and finished it at 1 a.m....i just could not put it down! This is the first novel by Holt that I've read, but I've added all of her novels to my "Must Buy" list. Happy Reading!

Review: Lady Olivia Hopkins needs a rich husband. Her number one candidate is the Earl of Salisbury. The Earl of Salisbury is looking for a wife and a legitimate heir. The Earl of Salisbury is also trying to heal the broken relationship he has with his only son, the illegitimate Phillip Paxton. Phillip Paxton loves Olivia, and Olivia loves Phillip Paxton. The Earl of Salisbury loves Olivia's cousin, the common Miss Winnie Stewart. Do you have all that? I agree! Yes indeed, what a tangled web Ms. Holt weaves. But what are a few love connections without a little malice? So add Olivia's wicked, promiscuous, stepsister Penelope. Ah yes, little Penny who happens to enjoy any fellow in long pants! To complete the entire spoof, throw in the conniving, evil stepmother. Oh, let's call her Margaret. But wait, tally in some very focused sex scenes and bingo you have Cheryl Holt's "Deeper Than Desire" in a nut shell. A story that skyrockets into a maze of frustration and nonsense. I may have turned the pages, but the entire read was frustrating, and in the end the author truly disappointed me. Having read several of Cheryl Holt's novels I know this author can do much better.
