Summary: mmmm....good
Review: I am a big fan of Jane Green. And this book was no disapointment. It keeps you wondering and highly entertained. The only problem I had with it was it was sometimes repeditive. I would definitly recomend it (and have) to a friend!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Entertaining, but a little vapid.
Review: I enjoyed the book - it was a good vacation read - but it took a long time to get where it was going. I have a difficult time believing that the protagonist couldn't see she was in the bad spot she was, and I guess I just ran out of patience with her. Felt like this novel could have been a good 50-75 pages shorter and would have been a much better effort. Oh well - it's still a decent beach book, but pick it up used if you can!

Summary: eh... maybe not...
Review: The cover of this book is charming, but after that Mr. Maybe starts a slipperly slide down down down into mediocrity. Libby Mason, consummate PR rep and gold digger, is searching for Mr. Right. Wonderful Nick is Mr. Right Now and rich Ed McMahon should be Mr. Never Ever, but then the book would be 45 pages long. Libby is incredibly annoying in her vacillation over the Ed McMahon "wooing" and engagement, but there are certainly some funny moments worked in. Green's writing is a bit tired and does little to enhance her pathetic plot.

However, all is not lost! It was refreshing to see a book of this genre featuring a woman who is actually good at her job. Hurrah for competent protagonists! Also, there are some very truthful moments between Libby and her best friend.

Summary: Mr Maybe? Try "Straight Talking" by the same author
Review: Tasha is the heroine in this story of Straight talking and is searching for her 'lid' the right man to fit the 'pot' that she is. It is a wonderful, thoughtful and heartrending book. Tasha and her friends started off as just characters in a book and ended up as my friends. I defy you to put this book down and tell me who wouldn't love Adam. It is extremely funny in places, very thought provoking in others and often you really feel Tasha's pain especially if it often mirrors your own. Jane Green has a way of getting into your heart and mind and inspiring you. An extremely talented writer of some fantastic 'keeping you company' literature

Summary: Absolutely fun!
Review: Jane Green's Mr. Maybe is wonderful! After adjusting to a few unfamiliar "English" words, I couldn't put it down. The journey to finding Mr. Right is hilariously detailed and the lessons learned had me rooting for Libby Mason the entire time!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Laughed my way through it
Review: Libby Mason, while sometimes shallow and superficial ( as mentioned by other reviewers) Says, thinks and does the things that you do but do not wish to admit. Her thoughts were so in sync with mine...i felt like she was one of my friends. It was true to life, realistic and Libby was real, and vulnerable. Loved every minute of it!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A real page turner
Review: I particularly enjoyed this book because I was able to relate to several of the predicaments Libby found herself in (been there, done that). It brought back a lot of memories (some good...and some not so good). A fun read...you'll love it!!

Summary: Read "Jemima J" Instead
Review: I bought this book not long after reading "Jemima J" and had the same expectations--witty, complex characters with a heart-warming plot that draws you in. I eagerly settled down with this book and was disappointed not long after the start. Libby is a very shallow and unidentifiable character and her habit of choosing men based on their salaries is evidence enough of this. The 'bad boy' Libby falls for, Nick, wasn't developed enough for me to desperately want Libby to be with him, and the reasons why the wealthy and predictable Ed is not a great fit for Libby are weak. It's a good read for the beach, but for the same price, you're far better off buying "Jemima J."

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Just wasn't into this
Review: This was a shock after "Jemima J." Libby, the protagonist, doesn't have nearly the charm and spunk of Jemima. Instead, Libby just runs after different guys, and compares them to each other, especially in terms of sex and earning potential.

Libby wants to be rich, but she doesn't want to work for it. She likes being engaged, but she doesn't like anything about her fiancee, Ed. In fact, even though the novel is told in the first person and the author is trying to portray Libby as a confused young woman making her way through the minefield of love, Libby just comes off as selfish and immature. She's 26, she should know better than to treat people the way she does.

Unfortunately, though, there are people like that out there, so this novel is realistic in that sense. But who wants to read about a person with whom you wouldn't be friends in real life?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great Book
Review: I loved this book. Jane Green is now one of my favorite authors. I liked Jemima J too - can't wait for her next book.
