Rating: Summary: Every bit as good as "The Pirate Lord" ! Review: I had loved reading "The Pirate Lord" and greatly admired the character of the Earl of Blackmore. I appreciated his love for his sister and his great conscience for doing the right thing. Reading "The Forbidden Lord", Jordan's own story emerges. He's a wonderful character and his true love, Emily, is certainly very deserving of his affections. I especially enjoyed that this book, quite literally, begins exactly where "The Pirate Lord" ends ! I can hardly wait to read the next book in this series. I have loved the first two so far.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic a must read!!! Review: I just loved the book "Forbidden Lord". Jordan just didn't know what he got himself into when he kissed the ever proper Emily. Emily was a great heroin and Jordan deserved her entirely. To think the heartache he caused his sister Sara in "Pirate Lord" I hated him when he took Sara by force but he redeemed himself when he feel in love with Emily. I can't wait for Ms. Jeffries to write the final book of her trilogy.
Rating: Summary: I LOVED this book! Review: I literally could not put this book down, and when I was finished, I had to read it again! It's difficult to describe what it was about this book that made it so good.......the heroine was innocent, yes, but no pushover. She insisted on an equal relationship or none at all. The hero was a dedicated bachelor, but he wanted Emily SO MUCH, and watching these two fight their attraction for each other was so entertaining. When they finally gave in, it was HOT! Get this book! I would give it 10 stars if I could.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put this one down. Review: I loved this story. The leading characters were so admirable. They had fabulous chemistry from the get-go. The love scenes were juicy and made my heart rate quicken. Thank you Ms. Jeffries.
Rating: Summary: BUY this book. Review: I picked this book out of whim and I was surprised at how good it was. It has a masquerade, a heroine who discovers her sensual self without acting ninnyhammer around the hero, an arrogant hero who remains likeable despite his high-handedness, and a truly loathsome villian. What I love most is the interplay of words and innuendos between Emily/Emma and Jordan. And with Jordan so obsessed with her, how could a girl resist? And the love scenes... I was reading this in a rainy cold night and I actually kicked the blankets off, surprising dear hubby. This book is truly one of the surprising classic scenario of wonderful serendipity. It made me hunt out its prequel. Other authors should learn from Jordan - How To Write An Arrogant Hero Without Making Him A Donkey 101.
Rating: Summary: WHAT A GREAT READ! Review: I really enjoyed this book. I was captivated by both characters and the storyline itself. The conversation was really witty and quite believable. One great aspect of the book is that both the characters show a great deal of emotion and vulnerability throughout the story. I went out and bought the prequel to this book which was equally good.
Rating: Summary: Stunning and Romantic ! Review: I think this is a sweet book because it is like a tennis game between Jordan Willis, the Earl of Blackmore and Emily Fairchild. They both try to attack each other but they always return the attacks. Not knowing it but they were falling in love. Emily Fairchild had to pretend to be Lady Emma Campbell, because she had a secret mission to discover her friend's secret lover. Along comes Lord Blackmore, trying to reveal her true identity to everyone. Lord Blackmore has sworned off love, saying that the attraction towards Emma or Emily was only desire. Emily cannot reveal her identity to anyone, not even to Lord Blackmore. But keeping her secret away from him, is very hard because of his persistence and determination. Not to mention his kisses. I love this book. It's very sweet, with a good ending.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Story, Satisfying Plot Twists... Review: I would have given this book 5 stars if it weren't for the embarrassing cover art. The story was delightful to read, the plot twists were surprising, the resolution emotionally satisfying. I like the fact that Ms. Jeffries heros often have convincing REASONS for their walled-off emotions, reasons that are emotionally engaging and not simply contrived-sounding. Once again, a little too much dithering by the heroine, but the story (and the writing) was good enough to forgive it. I was surprised to see the issue of suicide/assisted suicide brought up - a rather heavy topic for what is supposed to be a frothy read. Ms. Jeffries writes well enough to pull it all together, though. I must say, I DO like how engagingly randy her heros are! :-)
Rating: Summary: COMPELLING Review: IF THE ROMANCE WASN'T ENOUGH, THE STORY LINE GRIPS YOU RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING, AND HOLDS YOU UNTIL THE LAST PARAGRAPH. OTHER ROMANCE NOVELS I COULD FIGURE OUT THE ENDING HALF WAY THROUGH, NOT THIS ONE. YOU NEVER ARE QUITE SURE HOW THIS WILL TURN OUT. THE CHARACTERS WERE APPEALING, EVEN THE VILLIANS! I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE WHO LOVES ENGLISH (ESPECIALLY SCOTTISH) ROMANCE.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down! Review: Read the book all the way through the first time. Great story! Just started The Dangerous Lord (3rd in the trilogy), and that seems to be living up to the promise of "Forbidden". First book I have purchase by this author, I will be sure to buy more in the future!
