Summary: What great writing!
Review: I re-read this book after a few years and was struck by just how good Sandra Brown is. Emotional honesty, great storyline, characters you really care about, intense sexual tension that had me on the edge - all wrapped up by some truly great writing (the scene where Ross tells Lydia of his past is especially fine and lovely). It would have been so easy for the reader to feel outrage at Ross for his feelings towards Lydia so soon after his wife's death, but the author does such a masterful job of giving us the essence of Ross and Lydia that we are swept into their physical and emotional world, and can do nothing but have sympathy and caring for them both. In the intervening years since I first read this book I've also read others by Sandra Brown and enjoyed them all for the most part, but many have been forgettable novels basically discarded after the plane ride (Slow Heat in Heaven being a notably exception for being so mesmerizingly atmospheric). Thus I was struck anew by the knowledge that Sandra Brown is not merely just a good writer, she is a great writer, or was once. In the world of enjoyable but forgettable novels (romance or otherwise), Sunset Embrace really stands out.

Summary: This was an excellent book
Review: I read this bood about two months ago. It was one of Sandra Brown's many books that i have read, as she is one of my favorite authors. I could not put this book down. This has to be my favorite book, and I am an avid reader. Nearing the end of the book, i begin to get disappointed, as i didn't want it to end; that is how much i enjoyed it. I was delighted to discover that there was a sequel, Another Dawn. I would definitely reccomend these two books to anyone wanting an exciting romance

Summary: Outstanding!!
Review: I really enjoyed this one. Lydia was a wonderful girl and Ross a great guy for her. Sometimes you want to strangle him for his rudeness but Lydia was patient with him... most of the time. This is right up there with Mirror Image, my very favorite Sandra Brown book. A definite must read!

Summary: Great Book!!!
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the witty arguments Lydia and Ross engaged in. Both their 'shameful' pasts were dealt with in very moving and tasteful ways. I was touched by the love they shared and urge anyone who reads this story to read the sequel, 'Another Dawn'.

Summary: A western taste with a little bit of everything in it
Review: It is a surprise compared to other SB books. The setting is probably around the late 1860's to 1870. Lydia is found after giving birth to a baby boy in the wilderness by the Langston boys from a near by wagontrain. The baby is still born and Lydia is unconscious. She is running away from a step-brother (an abusive situation). Ma Langston takes Lydia in with the family to travel with them. Ross Coleman has just lost his wife Victoria during birth of his son Lee. The baby will die if a wetnurse is not found for him. Lydia is perfect but because of her shady background Ross fights it all the way-finally accepting it to keep Lee alive- thinking she's a whore. They are soon forced to marry because of the close quarters in the wagon train and to make things proper. Ross fights it all the way- though Lydia is a beautiful girl, shows signs of being "proper", and tries hard to take care of Ross and Lee. Sparks fly between the 2. Ross has a past that starts catching up with him half way through the book along with Lydia's past catching up with her, too. It is a really good book. The Langstons are a great family and you will fall in love with Ma Langston- we all need someone like her in our lives to help us "think straight." There are other characters you will appreciate like the Southern gentleman, Winston Hill, whom is always proper and his friend Moses, too. The story is a good one that draws you in.

Summary: One of my favorite books. Worth keeping in your library.
Review: Lydia, found near dead by two young boys is brought into the wagon train camp. Ross, just loosing his wife is angry and bitter. Victoria, Rosses wife, just passed away during child birth and Lydia, just having a miscarrage takes over the feeding of the new born, Lee. The characters are built with humor, strength, lust, and finally love. A tear jerker with wonderful funny, sad and happy moments. Worth reading more than once. It's one of my favorite books

Summary: Definitely one you'll remember
Review: Sandra has accomplished what most writers can only ever hope to achieve. She draws you into the story, and you feel as if you are there living with the characters. Ross and Lydia are definitely two of the most strong people ever created. Her settings and course of events are totally believable. I didn't want the story to end. I have picked this book up many times to read my favorite parts, and since finishing it and have re-read it a few times. You will not be disappointed!

Summary: A must read book!
Review: Sunset Embrace and Another Dawn were excellent books. I couldn't put these books down. I was in tears when Ross died, it was a very moving romantic book. I felt like there should be another book after Another Dawn. It left you hanging, and craving for more. I hope there will be another book that follows Another Dawn. Keep up the good work Sandra Brown.

Summary: I loved the book and didn't want it to end!
Review: SUNSET EMBRACE was another fine work of Sandra Brown, she always wets the appetite of the avid romance reader. Her characters are wonderful. I had Lydia, Ross, even Victoria and the families on the wagon train all pictured so well in my mind. You just live the part with Sandra's characters. What a talent to paint them so clearly and for you to empathize with them so thoroughly. This story roped you in from the beginning and clearly, I did not want it to end. I'm happy to hear that there is a sequel for me to enjoy as well. SUNSET EMBRACE is a definite keeper! Thanks Sandra!
