Rating: Summary: a great book Review: Many authors can not hold my attention. The first Johanna Lindsey book I purchased was Say You Love Me. I loved the book so much I couldn't put it down. I read the whole book within a week. Because I loved the book so much, I purchased four more of her books. I must say she is an exceptional author.
Rating: Summary: funny, touching, exciting Review: I love Johanna Lindsey's books! The Mallory's have to be my all time favorites though. I love how she combines the love interest with so much humor. The stories are so touching. The characters feel like an old friend.
Rating: Summary: The Worst Review: I have read most of Johanna Lindsey's books. I was so disappointed with this one. I will have to agree with review number two. I couldn't say it any better. Except that I still can't believe how bad it was or that I finished reading it.
Rating: Summary: I can not wait for her next book, I have all twenty five Review: I think she is one of the best. All of her books are spell binding. Keep writting about the Mallorys. I just love them all.
Rating: Summary: The Mallory saga continues ... and continues well! Review: I thoroughly enjoyed reading this latest edition in the Mallory novels. The characters were charming, and as they so often are in romance, confused about their partners feelings. I defintely think Ms. Lindsey has tapped in to something good with her "Mallory" family. The plot kept me turning the pages until I completed the book (the same day I started reading it!). I especially enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with some of my other favorite characters in this edition. I'm waiting with baited breath to see what Jeremy's story will turn out like!! Congrats Ms. Lindsey ... another page-turner!
Rating: Summary: Time to put the Malorys to bed!! Review: Let's stop writing about the Malorys. If a book can not be written without reliving the previous books in a series it's time to come up with a new subject. This one has to be the worst J. Lindsey has ever written and I have to wonder if she wrote it at all. The author spent so much time describing the earlier Malory novels that this story line was lost and uninteresting. And it is nice if the main characters have some redeeming qualities that have nothing to do with their family associations. Derek hasn't lived yet, hasn't proven himself in any capacity and is not believable as a typical Lindsey hero. Please, if you're going to give Jeremy his own story, give him a life first and something for the readers to believe. And, by the way, the author explained why Kelsey was left at the cottage without food and provisions but never explained why the driver wasn't there for her use! This was the worst Lindsey to date, and I hope she takes better care with her stories in the future.
Rating: Summary: Don't read this unless you've read the rest of this series! Review: This is the second Lindsey book I have tried to read, and the first I've attempted in the Malory series. I found it VERY hard to follow all of the secondary characters--there are a ton of them, all left over from other Malory novels, and all talking at once, arguing, and referring to old battles that I am clueless about. That wouldn't be so bad, except that the plot of this novel is weak in the extreme! The hero and heroine fall in love immediately, and the only thing that stands in their way is an insane villian who is dispatched 3/4 of the way through the book and social convention--and the social convention problem is solved in a matter of minutes. All problems are wrapped up with a clever idea, a hug and a kiss--with all the depth of a 30-minute TV sitcom. If you like Danielle Steele, Barbara Cartland, or any other simple, lightweight romances, this is for you. If you are more of a Laura Kinsale type, this book is not for you! I hated it.
Rating: Summary: I loved it!! Review: I have read all of the Malory novels and I can't wait untill she writes another one. I want to hear Jeremy's story. I know it is going to be a good one. I also think Percy needs a love interest.
Rating: Summary: Doesn't even compare to LOVE ME FOREVER! Review: I was a little disappointed in this Lindsey novel. The first novel I read by Lindsey was LOVE ME FOREVER and I was looking forward to reading another of her romances, but SAY YOU LOVE ME just couldn't compare. I enjoyed it, but I never got that "can't put it down" feeling.
Rating: Summary: Mildly amusing Review: Although part of a series, this book stands on its own w/o confusion. Her characters are vivid and well done, but this book seems very facile, as if Lindsay needed some quick cash from her publisher's advance. It's a waste of money in hardcover - barely worth it in ppbk cost.
