Summary: theology+genetics=one great read
Review: Well, I've got to tell you...this was one interesting book. A parish priest hears a con- fession that knocks his socks off. His trip to the Vatican sets in motion an incredible journey.. one that involves murder, fires, and DNA. Be prepared to spend a lot of time reading because you won't want to do anything else until you find out the answer to this "Genesis Code."

Summary: Very story idea, extremely well-written, but predictable...
Review: I really enjoyed reading this book, but I was oftentimes able to guess the essentials of the plot. I would still highly reccommend this book, but some of it was too predictable. Even still, it keeps you on your toes until the end.

Summary: Ooooh...want a really good book?
Review: If you are Catholic and a mystery lover, you must read this book. Oops, even if you are not Catholic you must read it. I am a voracious reader and nothing lately has bitten my taste buds. But this is an awesome book. Genetics, the Bible, priests, and all sorts of other factors come into play here. Confessions and pregnant women are the key. Let me know if you don't agree with me. One of my favorites this year.

Summary: Business Travelers, Put Down Hotel Remotes, Read This Book!
Review: I confess, I'm no literary genious, but this is a page turner. It is perfect for the business traveler who wants to swallow a crisp, well written mystery in two or three days. The plot is intriguing and exciting, but it might be a slight stretch for some. The main thing, the book entertains. Who needs SpectraVision and expense account hassles when this book is in the gift shop. Read it, you won't be disappointed, but you might be tired in the morning from staying up late trying to finish.

Summary: Just read it
Review: There are some books your read for literary and artistic merit. Then there are those that you read for pure enjoyment. This book fits the latter. Don't get boggled down trying to nitpick the the negatives of the book. Because of course, there are some. But to me, the positives far outweight the negaives. Just read it and enjoy it. The plot is on the grandiose scale, the pace is nonstop, its brain candy. Pure and simple. Go read Hemingway or Steinbeck if your looking to appreciate great literature. But go read this book if your looking for a night or two of pure entertainment.

Summary: A fascinating and intriging concept!
Review: I for one, thought the storyline intriging and unusual. It made me consider possibilities I had never thought of before. Of course, it is ficiton, but what a concept! I didn't want to stop reading!

Summary: Intersting idea, shallow presentation.
Review: Half way through the book, I was bored with Joe Lassiter's fleeting for the truth. Some of the events that led to the ending were surreal as important clues just fell into place for Mr. Lassiter. The Medical aspect of the book was short-lived and delivered on a junior high level. I picked up the book for its medical possibilities and I put it down very disappointed.

Intriguing idea, that could have been presented in a much more believable mannor. I would be very hesitant to pick up another of Mr. Case's books.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Easy to follow and read
Review: Could not put it down by the 50th page of the book. The story line is so closed to real that you will really forget this is a fiction only. Joe Lassister asks all the right questions regarding the technical stuffs and as a non-biochem technical person, I could follow the thread.

Summary: An intriguing page-turner with surprises to the last page!
Review: Genesis Code is a Ludlumesque thriller, right down to the creation of Lassiter, the average-guy-turned-superhero. The plot continues to thicken after Lassiter discovers murder and arson surround his sister and nephew's violent death. Lassiter travels the world, utilizing the tools of his high-tech security business to unravel the web connecting a group of religious zealots to the murders. Case delivers his religious and scientific knowledge with perfection, making an exciting and fast read. My teenager daughter picked it up and didn't stop reading for two days!

Summary: A good lite read that does raise some questions
Review: I enjoyed this book and the author's writing style. The plot was some what predictable. I too figured out who was behind the murder or Joe's sister and nephew by page 39. I also figured out what the Dr. was doing once Joe got to Italy. I was also screaming at Joe to read the letter and get it translated. I did not have a problem with him having the money to travel as it was stated that he had a bit of money from his company. He took a leave of absence from his job to conduct the investigation. Granted he wasn't the best investigator otherwise he'd have put the clues together a lot sooner.

The last bit didn't surprise me as much as I had hoped, as it was set up a few pages earlier.

The questions raised have to do with the premise of the book. If this could be done how long before some one tries it (legally or illegally) with any famous corpse.
