Rating: Summary: Storyline Review: "You can't bottle wish fulfillment, but Nora Roberts certainly knows how to put it on the page." - New York TimesCocky, confident and colossally arrogant, David Katcherton swept into Megan Miller's life and awakened feelings that had been lying dormant. Megan wanted no part of Katch, especially when she discovered he was after her beloved grandfather's business. But Katch was a man who never took no for an answer. And he'd set his determined sights on Megan. Megan wasn't about to let herself fall for this irritatingly irresistible stranger who'd insinuated himself in her life. But there was more to Katch than she imagined and, as he challenged her to fulfill her dreams, he also aroused passions she'd never before known.... Enjoy this reader favorite, back by popular demand.
Rating: Summary: not her best Review: Although I love almost anything Nora Roberts writes, this story was way below her usual level of writing. The characters behave in a ridiculous manner, and the story just leaves you asking ...what??? Really not her best. After reading it i threw it in the trash which is really unusual for me.
Rating: Summary: Not as good as her recent books Review: As a huge fan of NR...i could tell from page 3 of this book that it was an early release. It lacked character and depth...sure...the story was cute and fairy-tale....but overall it was too short and too "fluffy" for my taste.
Rating: Summary: 3.5 stars! Review: I don't know why I didn't quite enjoy this book? I am a huge Nora Roberts fan but this reprint from 1984 just didn't do it for me. It's a story of Megan, whom after losing her parents at a young age, has been brought up my her Grandfather. Together they own and run Joyland....a old but fun amusement park! In her spare time she is an artist with a studio above the garage! At the begining of the book you meet Katch, who just happens to know all about her but it is never explained why or how? He is very cocky but then you learn he has a heart and uses his money for good, like building a hospital! I mean it's cute but then again come on!!!! They end up fighting through the entire book....and then fall in love in the end...it just didn't flow well. And they never said what happens to Joyland at the end...and the book was based around that main aspect!! It was a very quick read that wasn't bad but wasn't very good....but better than some books out there!

Rating: Summary: Not one of her best works Review: I'm a huge Nora Roberts fan, but this book was not one of her better works. Not surprising, I guess, since it was written 20 years ago :) Megan Miller is 23, has lived with her grandfather since she was 5 (when her parents died) and together they run an amusement park in Myrtle Beach, SC. David Katcherton (Katch) is 31, rich (although we never really find out how that came to be) and wants to buy the park, which Megan doesn't want to sell. When Katch discovers that Megan is really a talented artist, he buys several of her pieces, sends them to his sister, who just happens to own an art gallery in New York, and the sister arranges a show. It was a nice, sweet little story. However, I felt like I was being 'told' a story, rather than experiencing it (although that did improve somewhat as the book progressed). The characters didn't have a whole lot of depth (and it was a short story, so there wasn't a lot of room for character development, but still...) But the thing that I disliked the most was that there was no *real* conflict between the characters. But I'm happy to say that Ms. Robert's writing/stories have improved greatly over the years, and if you read one of her more recent books, I'm sure you'll love it.
Rating: Summary: Not Too Bad! Review: I've only read this once so far, but I did enjoy it. In typical NR style, the ending was a bit predictable if you've read a lot of her books, especially some of the most recently released. That aside, this was an enjoyable read. Well worth the price! I will say that this was not my all-time favorite NR novel, but again, a good overall book, and a good weekend read. Can't wait for more!
Rating: Summary: If you've read Born in Fire, Review: This book honestly is where some of the ideas for Roberts bestselling book. Megan (which is gaelic for Margaret, who is the lead in Born in Fire) is an artist, who is unaware of how talented she is, etc etc. I felt like I was reading a total rip off, but I suppose since this book was done in 1984, it gave time for Roberts to perfect her craft, to allow her to write a masterpiece such as Born in Fire. Overall, you're much better skipping this one.
Rating: Summary: Short and Sweet Review: What a wonderful weekend read. David Katcherton, the stories hero, although cocky and arrogant, you can't help but love him. And little Miss Megan, you just want to shake her and scream..."Wake up already!" I thoroughly enjoyed this book and as an author, I can appreciate Nora's example, in this case of less being more. I was pulled into the story and didn't put it down until I was finished. Definitely a keeper!
