Summary: Good, steamy read
Review: James and Abigail are two very well matched main characters. It is nice to see a no nonsense heroine, even if she is still a virgin. She is the only contact for her younger sister, and wants to make sure Caroline has enough, and correct information before making a choice for a husband. In order to give her accurate information, Abigail must find out herself. Thus enter our hero. These two have sparks flying from the first time they meet.

There was very little about this story that detracts from it. I liked all aspects of it. The characters, the plot, the depth. Abigail's position in society and James's lack thereof and how they are entwined in the story. James has a lot he needs to overcome in regards to his "family" and I really liked that whole part of the story. The secondary romance is charming as well.

All in all this is a great book. Well written, well thought out and very sensual. Pick it up and enjoy!

Summary: Hot!!!!
Review: Just finished Love Lessons and I really enjoyed this book. Yes it is very erotic but Ms. Holt really describes the characters emotions so well that you really feel for the characters. James is very dangerous and sexy and Abby is very inquisitive and genuine. I would recommend it just beware of the explicit sex scenes.

Summary: HOT, HOT, HOT
Review: Just finished this book and it only took me 1 day!!! Could not put the book down. This is the first book I have read by Cheryl Holt. I am buying her others today. The story between James and Abigail is so wonderful. James is a real man with real feelings. Due to all the heartache he has had to endured in his youth, you find yourself wanting to do just as Abigail does. He is also very strong in character, compassionate and loving. Abigail is your typical high society beauty with strict morals and sense of propriety. But when she meets James all of that magically disappears. I loved the way Cheryl Holt writes of their chemistry and love scenes. You can visualize everything that is happening with her words. Excellent writer in my opinion. The story line is believable and the secondary characters are wonderful. James' mother Angela was great!!! Look forward to Total Surrender in July because I fell in love with Michael. I was hoping she would tell us what happened to him.
If you like reading erotic romance than this is the author for you. Hot, steamy, wild, tempting and imaginative scenes in this book....

Summary: My opinion ONLY!
Review: Lady Abigail Weston was a twenty-five year old spinster and determined to see her younger sister, Caroline, wed well. However, without knowing what happened in the marriage bed (except the horrible things she had been told) Abby could not explain it to Caroline. To rectify this, Abigail hired someone to give her lessons!

James Stevens was the illegitimate son of an earl. James thought nothing could ever surprise him again, until Abigail's request for love lessons! Curious and intrigued, he agreed!

** I warn everyone up front that this book contains A LOT explicit sex! I can only recommend this book for mature readers! The love scenes go into detail and each is several pages long. Not really much of a plot to this book, except for a past paramour interfering out of jealousy. Caroline seemed, to me, as if she was thrown into the book as an after thought. The book is well written, grammar wise. But, in my opinion, the book came across to me as soft porno instead of romance. **

Summary: Sizzling!!!!
Review: My eyes nearly bugged out of my head when I ran across the first steamy pages of this book. Wow! Talking about hot! Now for my review...

It wasn't too hard for me to accept the plot - that a woman back in those times would seek out instruction on sex from a man, er... excuse me...a gorgeous man, who had all of the answers. Yes, most women from those times are depicted as prudish and had to abide by a strict decorum, but I don't believe that EVERYONE did. So, I accepted the plot with glee.

Having accepted the plot, I easily moved on to the characters and the dialogue. That's where this book excels. I loved the characters. As with typical historical romances, yes the main characters were gorgeous and wealthy, and the woman was wide-eyed innocent. The man, as usual, was worldly wise and a take-charge type of guy. But they also had their flaws. She was rather demure and nigh on to being a spinster. He on the other hand had a dubious view of romance and had some family issues he needed to deal with. But these flaws helped to both advance the story and add depth to the characters.

The dialogue between the characters was very good as well. For the most part, the dialogue was interesting, appropriate for the events taking place, and on occasion totally scandalous! How scandalous you ask... let's just say that I wouldn't dare read this book in a public place if you're prone to blushing or heat flashes, or if you don't want the person next to you glancing over your shoulder at the sometimes "scorching" text.

The "action" in this book -- meaning the various confrontations among characters, was very good too and interesting. Both the dialogue and the events. They added a bit more spice and picked the pace up. Not that I'm complaining about pace. The pace was very appropriate.

I read this book in a couple of days - which for me lately, is pretty fast considering my hectic schedule. I admit, towards the end of the book I skimmed through some of the dialogue and some of the text. But that was because it was 3:00 am, I was tired and I had to get up for work at 5:30 am, but I could not sleep without getting to the end of this book. And besides, I only skimmed through a few paragraphs here and there. Yes, the book is that good. Today, I have red, itchy eyes and I'm tired, but I'm darned happy that I got to the end of the book and found out what happened, and I'd do it again. I wouldn't have gotten any sleep otherwise. Bottom line, if you don't mind some, I mean, alot of erotica in your historical romance, this is the book for you. Heck, I'm still grinning after this read...

Summary: If you like your sex scenes hot...
Review: then I would recommend this book. I would classify this as Victorian Erotica and it does not disappoint. The story starts out with the heroine (abigail) enlisting the help and services of a notorious womanizer (James) to help her understand and know what happens sexually between a man and woman. (Abigail wants to share the information with her sister Caroline so she may educate her before marriage) This arrangement is a a "no strings attached" and James reluctantly agrees to help her. Neither party expects to feel the lust, desire and love that eventually consumes them. A jealous paramour of James is thrown in to shake up the lovers too. I thoroughly enjoyed this book even though I felt it was a bit far fetched that a lady such as Abigail would seek out a man for tutored sex, but hey that is what the fantasy is all about.

Summary: Very Hot!!!
Review: This was a great love story with so much tension, sensuality, and emotions that I found it hard to put down. This was a well-crafted story with great character development.

Abigail wants to learn all that she can about physical love between a man and a woman so she can instruct her sister before her marriage. Abigail seeks out James Stevens a wealthy ... member of London society with quite the reputation as a ladies man. He will be perfect in describing what goes on between couples. What neither of them expects are the feelings that develop between each other or the obstacles that keep them from being together.

This was a first time read for me by this author and I found her writing to be very entertaining. I look forward to reading Micheal's (James's brother) story next.

Summary: HOT! Very Erotic!
Review: This was my first Cheryl Holt book and it won't be the last! I was suprised to find it. I had passed it over many times but when it caught my eye it really caught. I wasn't expecting such a erotic book. I've read Robin Schone's books and thought that they couldn't be as hot, well I was wrong. I would warn anyone who doesn't like steamy sex scenes not to read this book. It will make a person blush and feel very stirred up.

Its the story of a 25 year old spinster, Abigail, who has a problem. Her younger sister is coming to the age where she will marry and is asking Abigail about what the wedding night will be like. Abigail has no knowledge other than the basics. She decides that she must find out for herself before she can tell her sister. So that she can get "hands on" knowledge of love making she enlists the aid of James Stevens. James and his brother are the well known bastard sons of Lord Stevens. They have built a name and a fortune for themselves despite the label. James is intrigued and agrees to teach Abigail. At first all they do is talk and look at some pictures but soon it is aparent that a demonstration is needed. From the moment their lips touch each is lost. They are consummed by their passions and gladdly follow where ever it leads. Unfortunately it leads to ruination of Abigail's reputation. James must over come some long seeded rules to help her.

I enjoyed this book so much that I read it all in one setting. I look forward to Michael's story.
