Summary: I LOVED IT!!!
Review: I loved this book. This is coming from a fifty year old woman. I thought it was fresh and so so funny. I laughed out loud and that is what I look for in a book these days!! Can't wait for her next book!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Pretty Good Book
Review: I was impressed by this book. There have been many pseudo-Bridget Jones's Diary novels written in the last couple of years and many have been pretty bad, to say the least. This one, though, was a pretty good book.

Summary: This is one of those books that you curse!
Review: I hate books like these-you know, the ones that you start to read before bed and you can't put down. I spent a few nights past my bedtime enjoying this tale of dating in your twenties. Actually, I am in my thirties but little has changed.

This is the tale of Jackie, a copyeditor in Boston searching for her true romance after being dumped by her longterm boyfriend. I just loved her acerbic take on the dating scene and her reliance on "Fashion Magazine Fun Facts" as a mantra to live by. Anyone who has ever endured an evening sitting in a bar like "Orgasm" being oogled by idiots will appreciate this book.

Her friends join her on her quest for the perfect man-all experiencing romance pangs as well. The e-mails regarding a certain date named Tim are a riot! Also loved the bits from the romance novels Jackie edits (they are more like soft core porn).

Sarah Mlynowski is a fun author and this is a great first book. I would be very interested in reading more from her and her take on single life.

Summary: Good first attempt at a book
Review: I agree with "how did this book get published" (Dec/2001). Through the beginning of this book I thought I was going to die. The writing style reminded me of the first short story I ever wrote (when I was 8). There was not enough content, and way too much babbling.
Luckily, the author's writing style changes at some point & then the book is just a cute story. If I'd been the publisher, I would have demanded the beginning be re-written, but hey, I'm not them.
This book is a 20-something Sex in the City / Bridget Jone's Diary wanna-be. It does an ok job at doing that too, but is not extremely original.

Summary: Your New Go To Romantic Comedy
Review: Have you ever been dumped via email?? Seems this is the new kiss off method. Yikes - that's gotta hurt. Well, "Milkrun" by Sarh Mlynowski is a great tale of love had and love lost. Your boyfriend runs off to Thailand - and you get the kiss off email that he wants to "find himself." This is a clear road to self-discovery and Jackie's tales and adventures will crack you up. Her jump into "dating" provides a barrel of laughs and a warm sense of comfort that it's not you. Loved it!! Great Read!

Summary: Myself to the Tenth Degree
Review: I bought this book on a complete whim and finished it by the end of the night. In between laughing outloud (and the funny looks from my roommates), I kept marvelling at how much Jacki resembled me - and all the girls I know - but to a higher power. For twenty-something women, fresh out of school and on their own for the first time, this book isn't just hysterical with its accuracy - it's absolutely poignant. And further still, it prompts self-reflection, as my favorite quote from the book - "The only reason you should lie is if someone is going to believe you. And if that someone isn't the person you're lying to, it should at least be yourself..." - hit way too close to home. Thanks to Sarah Mlynowski for giving me something to think about - and a little bit of a reality check.

Summary: A Solid Romantic Comedy
Review: I admit it, I am addicted to romantic comedies. Milkrun, while not rising to the Getting Over It, Rachel's Holiday, Bridget Jones level in quality is certainly a very strong, very enjoyable novel. Another admission: I'm not in my twenties, and I was still able to enjoy this novel, if only for the nostalgic elements. Milkrun tells the story of Jackie, a young twenty something who has just been dumped in an email by her boyfriend who is "finding himself" in Thailand. Unfortunately for Jackie, he also found a leggy Dutch blonde. With the help of her friends and a number of cocktails, she sets out to recover from this jerk (appropriately named Jer). She hits the Boston bar scene and embarks on a number of bad (but bad in a hilarious way) dates, until she finally discovers what it is she is looking for. This novel is a funny lark--there is not one serious sentence in there. Jackie is an endearing narrator--she'll make you chuckle, she'll make you laugh out loud. I recommend this novel for all romantic comedy fans. It won't let you down.

Summary: Another wonderful book.
Review: Jackie is somewhat everyone woman can be in there mid twenty's. Looking for Mr. Right.

After being dumped by her boyfriend she makes it a point to go out and find someone who care for her and be there for her. But with her luck she just find men who aren't her type.

What I love most about this book was her friendships with Sam and Wendy. Sam was a riot with her neatness type personality and her boyfriend Marc and her many other dates with men. Wendy was wonderful in how she helped Jackie get thru life and help her finally realize that things will be alright.

Overall this was a good book and I can't wait for more books from this author.

Summary: A distraction itself!
Review: If you are a fan of "Sex in the City", this is the book for you! Jackie Norris is a single woman living in Boston after her boyfriend left her to 'find himself'. Like many women, she has trouble meeting even a half way decent guy. Definitely a book that almost all women can relate to, "Milkrun" is a great read. Funny and exciting, this book will literally have you turning the pages!

Summary: Great Chick Lit Book
Review: The writing in Milkrun is as cute as the cover!
A perfect read for any 20 or 30 something...or any girl who is single or remembers what it's like to be in the dating world. The main character Jackie is a 24 year old single gal who recently moved to Boston to be with her boyfriend Jeremy. When Jeremy decides he needs some time alone touring Thailand, Jackie finds herself boyfriend-less in a new town. As a result, you will become one of Jackie's closest friends, following her around in the search for Mr. Right and experience her female friendships along with her. This book is fun and humorous and the perfect read if you're looking for some light-hearted single girl in the dating world entertainment!
