Summary: I expected more....
Review: ... I was pleased to see that it was a thick book, and I hoped I would get engrossed in it, but it didn't happen to get going for me until after page 302. That is when they finally get to South America to pick up the child they are going to adopt. I found the survival techniques taught to the Cobra Force very interesting which they put into use when they were stranded in the Rain Forest, that was the best part of the book. The rest was like a "harlequin" type romance with promise...of something better coming. The last part of the book had more action for sure, although the outcome was predictable. It will not make it on my list of favorites. I found I could easily put it down if I had to for a day or two...I can't do that with a book I am really into. I devour it in one or two days. I will try her again, however. ...

Review: I just finished reading this book and I had to slow down because I did not want it to end. This was a wonderful book. I loved every minute of it. The Stanfield's clan was so twisted. But it made for exciting reading. I fell in love with little Rafi. He was so adorable. The love between Logan and Kelly was so touching. Tears streamed down my eyes several times. Logan really does sound like a man to die for. The things he went through during his childhood just broke my heart. I'd love to read more about Logan, Kelly, Pops, and Rafi. This was my first time reading Meryl Sawyer and now I must read more. This is one romantic suspense that I highly recommend. There is absolutely no way you could be disappointed. Go slow, because you will not want it to end. Enjoy.

Happy running a small town newspaper, Kelly is tipped off to get the scoop of the decade and interview Logan Mc Cord, the missing child of the town's hope for President . Logan is trying to keep a low profile, while the prominent political family that left him for dead in the desert years before drags him back into the spotlight. An orphaned boy, a political scam, several mysterious murders and a whole lot of romance round out the story. Meryl Sawyer is a great storyteller, and in the tradition of " A KISS IN THE DARK", "THE HIDEAWAY" and "UNFORGETTABLE", she'll keep you hooked until the last page !

Summary: Tempting Fate is great and the title fits perfectly.
Review: Meryl Sawyer is a great writer, you never get disappointed in any of her books. I've read about 6 of her books and I think every story is unique. The characters - Kelly and Logan are so down to earth. The plot is perfect and their interests very intriguing. I liked the way she describes the lives of the Navajos and the typical lifestyle of the Stanfields. Logan's lifestyle as a Cobra is even interesting but the part about the escape could have been lengthened. Anyway this is one great book. By the way that's what I say everytime I read one of her books.

Summary: Rarely is there a book as good as this one!
Review: Meryl Sawyer's TEMPTING FATE is one of the best books I have ever read. Logan McCord is a wonderfully scarred and tortured hero. His kidnapping experience seems to have scarred him permanatly, such as his distaste of kissing. Kelly Taylor is a wonderful young woman and neither Logan or Kelly seem to quite understand the other. There are some misunderstandings between the two. There are many questions the reader may form at the beginning of this book such as...Who kidnapped Logan? What were their reasons? Maybe the kidnapper is closer to home than anyone thinks. Why does Logan barely remember his first five years before his kidnapping? Why does he look so much like his "adoptive" father? Why do his supposed siblings resent his return? Don't worry. Meryl Sawyer will answer these questions and more. The answers may surprise you.

Review: One of the best books I've read so far this year. (I know, it's only the 27th day of January but I've read a lot!) This book had me hooked from page one and I didn't stop until the end. Highly recommended.

She needs a husband who knows South America and he needs a wife who can help him investigate why someone wants him removed, more permanently, from the Stanfields again. They agree to a marriage of convenience and fly to Columbia where they fall in love as dangerous criminals chase them into the nearby jungle. Meryl Sawyer is one of the top authors of romantic suspense and her latest novel, TEMPTING FATE, is a fabulous addition to her repertoire. The story line is loaded with action and suspense, and the lead protagonists are a wonderful pair, struggling to overcome external enemies and internal histories. Though the villains are too superficial and cartoonish, Ms. Sawyer provides readers with an intriguing, superb romantic suspense. Harriet Klausner
