Summary: Hidden Fires
Review: Desperate to escape her past, beautiful preacher's daughter Lauren Holbrook arrives in Texas with the hopes of working for the prestigious Lockett family.. Instead of offering her a job, the family insists that she marry the family heir, a rogue with a reputation that precedes him, Jared. Unbeknownst to Lauren and Jared, their lives will be changed forever. With a great plot and a variety of characters, Hidden Fires is a book that all romantics at heart must read. I give this book two thumbs up and five stars. You must read it!

Summary: READ THIS BOOK!
Review: From the moment you start reading this book, to the very end...you won't be able to put it down! This book is a historical romance that blossoms between two very oppisite people. You laugh, cry and go through just about every emotion while engulfed in this intriguing story. If you are romance fan...like myself, you will love this novel. Once again, Sandra has outdone herself!

Summary: One of her best books
Review: Hidden Fires is by far one of Mrs. Browns best books ever. Even though the book got off to a slow start once I got into the book I did not put it down it was so good. This book had me filled with so many emotions one minute I was mad and the next minute I was so happy I was almost in tears. This is definately one of my favorites.

Summary: An exciting, breath taking adventure that will capture you.
Review: Hidden Fires was a wonderful book. Ya'll should try it. I must admit that at first I didn't want to read it because the title was sort of cheesy. Come on now, Hidden Fires...Sort of like a romance novel with no real content or story. But I was wrong. I was riveted by Brown's way of making the story flow with great ease and have exciting events that all intertwined. Hidden Fires had a great, exciting, and interesting plot. I could not put it down. The characters were so real and the Texas surroundings that Brown described made me feel as if I were there. I felt like jumping on a horse right alongside the characters as they went along their business. When Brown would describe the characters I actually felt and saw them. I found myself sneaking away some time from work to read it. I laughed, became angry, was elated, and ok, ok I cried. But overall this book was Fantastic!!!!! PS Ignore the cheesy title

Summary: To say I loved the book would be an understatement!
Review: I have only recently started reading romance novels. I stumbled upon S. Brown and found several of her books "typical". This one is no exception. Yet, I was absolutely engrossed in it. I really felt the pain Jared heaped on Lauren, and in return, himself. I enjoyed the dialogue, the tension, and the sweet gestures between the main characters. All scenes were tasteful and erotic. I will definately recommend this particular novel to anyone with a romantic heart.

Summary: A keeper
Review: I have read other Sandra Brown novels, but this was the first of her "classic romance" novels that I have read, and my first historical romance. This novel did a great job of taking me back in time, and I really felt like I got to know the characters well. This book really elicited emotion from me...I hated Olivia and Kurt, I rooted for Lauren and Jared to work out, etc... I read this book in one day because I could not put it down. The plot of this book was not as predictable as other romance novels (like a lot of NOra Roberts books, etc), and there were some elements of suspense near the end. I will definitely be reading other Sandra Brown romance novels based on this book.

Summary: Best Book In a Lomg Time
Review: I have recently begun to read books by Sandra Brown. I have read Best Kept Secrets and Slow Heat in Heaven but this book is by far the best one I have read. I started the book on Friday and by the next Thursday I had read it 3 times! I feel the plot was great and I really enjoyed the surprises around every corner. I really think the reason I liked it so much is because of the innocence of the heroine, Lauren and the ruggedness of the hero, Jared. I also liked the time setting of the book. For anyone who likes to read Sanda Brown I suggest you get this book!

Summary: Boring..Boring..Boring
Review: I liked this book and the characters, but it wasn't great. However, after reading the existing 11 reviews I feel I should give the book another chance in a few months. I don't know why I didn't love it. Maybe the misunderstandings went on too long and seemed contrived. Regardless, SB is a fabulous writer. Try it.
