Rating: Summary: A romance novel that will leave you breathless. Review: "The Heir" is one of the most romantic stories that I've read by Catherine Coulter. Coulter rewrote this novel bringing the characters to life. The magnificent beauty of Arabella and her courageous heart leaves the new Earl of Strafford breathless. Justin Deverill, new Earl of Strafford, is a military man who is strong, handsome, stubborn, and clever. He's faced to marry his cousin Arabella whose father (the Earl) died and left a will for the two to marry in order to keep the family's heir alive. Although these two beautiful people end up marrying in order to keep the Earl's wishes true, Justin believes that Arabella has betrayed him before their wedding night. How does Justin treat his wife, Arabella during their wedding night? Well, I'll leave this up to you to read what will happen next. Catherine Coulter did a splendid job with the revision of "The Heir" giving it more life than before.

Rating: Summary: Please read the back cover -- Dear Reader Review: All I ask is 30 seconds of your time. In my Dear Reader I will always tell you exactly what I've done -- if the novel is a simple reprint, I will tell you. If I have changed the title, I will tell you. If I've rewritten the novel, I will tell you exactly what I've done. For example: in the Dear Reader for Evening Star I told you when the novel originally came out and that its title had been changed from Sweet Surrender. So, thirty seconds of your time, please -- I try to help all my emptors to caveat. Than
Rating: Summary: Simply the best! Review: Arabella, a teen barely 18, has a diffuclt choice to make, either marry the man her father had picked, or don't marry and is kicked out of the estate. She makes her decision very difficult but she decides to marry Justin. They start off very shaky at the beginning but then Arabella decides to marry. It was then Justin thought that she was cheating on him. He makes the wedding a living hell. Arabella had no idea what made Justin so mad. Later on, Justin realized that she never had cheated on him and he was sorry for making that realization. At the end, they live happily. In this book there was a lot of deceit and mistrust. People also got hurt. Please read this book. It will bring thoughts into your head and lessons that are worth thousands of words.

Rating: Summary: HER BEST BOOK EVER Review: C.C. has outdone herself with this book, it is funny, suspensful, and romantic. The Dashing Justin Deverill, and Beautiful Arabella set off fireworks in this historical romance. Justin and Arabella's fights will have you either rolling will laughter, reading so quickly your mind won't keep up with your eyes, or so mad you'll be screaming out loud at the characters. This is a definate must-have, for your C.C. book collection.
Rating: Summary: UTTER TRASH Review: Catherine Coulter was among one of the first romance authors that I ever read. I have liked many of her books, but I have noticed a trend in her historical romance that I can't like. The men always treat the women horribly. This book is probably one of the best or rather worst examples. The "hero" proceeds along his path with blind arrogance and belief in what he "knows" to be true. He brutally rapes his wife on their wedding night and then refuses to consider it rape. She acts like a spoiled brat practically from the first moment she appears, but you begin to feel a certain sympathy for her because of the unforgivable way her husband treats her. I'll continue to read Catherine Coulter's modern mysteries, but I doubt I can bring myself to read another one of her historical romances again. This is the worst one of all. Utter trash!
Rating: Summary: 4 only because the plot wasn't romantic Review: First of all, I agree that rape really shouldn't enter the romance story world. You read a romance to get away from the grime of the real world and what happens? the heroine gets raped by the hero. That was my main irritation. Other than that, I was really annoyed at Justin's stubborn refusal to believe Arabella, and he never really apologizes for his callousness--he's too proud. That miffed me. But being miffed by a story isn't always bad. There was definitely passion in the characters and the story, and this being my first Catherin Coulter book, it urged me to read her other novels. Really, none have matched this one in the raw emotion and power, but that might just be first love/impression. If you can get past the hero and heroine as cousins (ick--they even look alike) and the other incest reference, as well as a thoroughly stuck-up array of characters, then I highly recommend this as a compelling read.

Rating: Summary: Pass this one by unless you want something to put you to sle Review: Go read some of her more recent stuff it' far far better- this one had little action, very very little. It was mostly talking heads. CC can write but there was so little plot and it was all so predictable that I wish I could get my money back and but something worthwhile.
