Rating: Summary: Small Has Turned A Corner Review: This book was a whole lot of nothing. It starts out depressing as the main characters whine and wail their way through Commonwealth England. When so many deaths occur at the outset of a book, you're probably going to wonder what's romantic about it. Well, nothing. Autumn Leslie is either devoid of personality, or she's prancing around sleeping with the kings of France and England. She never seems to be having fun, either. Jasmine Leslie seems to have tried so hard to be her grandmother that she has no personality of her own. Ugh. I'm glad I got this from the library instead of buying it!
Rating: Summary: A most enjoyable read Review: This is one of my favourites from Small. (The other favourite being "The Kadin") I like the way the heroine's life is led and how her character is developed. The story line is great and will take you from tears to joy in many parts of the book. It is the type of book I would read over again.

Rating: Summary: Good story but not as lusty as some of her older books Review: While I did enjoy this book, I found that compared to "Skye O'Malley" or "The Kadin" there was little passion to speak of. Autumn never really seemed to find her soulmate in any of the men she bedded. Nor does she have any sort of purpose. Her story simply drifts along leading to nowhere in particular. I was disappointed in the fact that her story with the Duke of Garwood never really went anywhere. Here was a chance to have some really good sparring and wit but there was little to see. However, the storyline was still enjoyable. It was nice to see were the characters are in their lives. It's a nice book to curl up with to pass some time.

Rating: Summary: Just as good as the last one Review: Wow - another good one by Bertrice Small. My only comment is that it's too bad she can't bring back Skye and more of her adventures. Those were by far the BEST! Keep those good story lines coming and I will keep reading them.
