Summary: AWESOME
Review: I loved this book. I had a hard time putting it down, even to sleep at night! I loved the surprises. THis is a feel-good book.

Summary: Boring. Way too long. Poor, poor editing
Review: 300 pages of this is agony. Not only that, we do not need to know everything that happens in a day. I felt like I was watching the lead character's life on screen without any edits. I read the 1st 150 in earnest & just skimmed the last half. Angie whines all the time- fights with her selfish beau, is equally selfish herself and satisfied with mind games, then whines some more, meets the beau's uptight parents who no one would like- only then to fall into the arms of her roommate, the guy who has been there all along. Okay, I can deal with some predictablility in this genre, but not to this degree- the writing is dull and flaccid & uninspiring. I don't know why I read these books other than I feel like I have to know what is bad to know what is good. Save your money and time, please!

Summary: Fun, dating romp
Review: Angie DiFranco is in her early thirties without having achieved her relationship or career goals. It seems all her ex-boyfriends have found marital bliss, while her two jobs interfere with developing a serious acting career. Involved in a long term relationsip with a budding computer entrepreneur, Kirk, Angie decides to ply her feminine wiles to lead Kirk to the altar.

Assisting in Angie in her quest is an high school friend who thinks men are like tightly sealed jars--sometimes, someone loosens the cap and the next person opens the jar with ease. Angie's male roomie Justin is a lovable if somewhat underdeveloped character who watches Angie's manipulative behavior with horror. Rounding out the cast of characters is Angie's close and warm Italian family, her successful but unhappy friend Grace, and a visit to Kirk's stereotypical uptight New England family.

As Angie's plan to have Kirk propose to her begins to successfully unfold, she begins to question what she really wants in a mate and in her career. After plotting and working hard to achieve what she thinks she wants, Angie begins to discover what she needs to be happy.

This is a fun read, with some engaging characters and situations.

Summary: If you're wanting to tame a man into marriage.... read this!
Review: Angie is in her early thirties and since all of her ex's are happily married or engaged she feels like it's about time that she needs a pretty ring on her finger, too! With a friend's help, Angie starts a plan of attack against her boyfriend to get him to pop the question. Juggling two jobs and a boyfriend isn't the best way to persue her acting career- so while she's coercing Kirk into marriage she starts to learn what she really needs to be happy. Happiness is definately not her kiddy aerobic instructor job or the boyfriend who wants her to "get a real job"! She learns she is going to have to get back into auditioning to fulfill her acting dreams. Little does Angie realize that happiness was right under her nose to begin with- and yes she does end up happy AND ENGAGED!

Angie is also surrounded with wonderful characters- Justin (her hot roommate who hoards old couches), Grace (georgious long-time friend), Michelle (an unhappily married old friend), Kirk (the boyfriend), her hilarious Italian family (her grandmother has found a boyfriend!), and Colin (her co-instructor on the kiddy aerobic show).

I'm even excited that Linda Curnyn's next novel is going to be centered around Angie's friend Grace! I can't wait to get my hands on that book!

Summary: This is THE perfect title.
Review: Angie's ex-boyfriends all seemed to get engaged AFTER she breaks up with them. This time, she's going to get her current beau to "pop the question" so his next girlfriend doesn't benefit from all of her "lid loosening" - a cute term that her friend Michelle describes in detail. This book rings true as many men have that commitment phobe issue, and Angie is likeable and easy to relate to.

I wasn't able to really get into this book until 2/3 the way through. After which, the pages started really turning for me. I thought the beginning of the book was OK, but LOVED the last hundred pages. Curnyn's book Confessions of an Ex-Girlfriend was the same way for me...starting slow but really picking up near the end.

Curnyn creates cute stories and I'll be picking up her third book, Bombshell, when it comes out in May.

Summary: Nice light summer reading!!!!
Review: Engaging men seemed to be the story of my life...a good man, a great man...and a bunch of women who throw it all together. Angie reminded me so much of myself it wasn't even funny! She has 2 men...one who loves her and one who THINKS he loves her.......thank god she finally came to her senses and ended up with the right one.

Summary: Engaging novel...
Review: Having read Lynda Curnyn's Confessions of an Ex-Girlfriend, I had looked forward to reading her second novel. Engaging Men is one of the best RDI's offerings thus far.

This romantic comedy centers on Angie DiFranco's desire to cope with the heartbreaking fact that most of her ex-boyfriends plunged into marriage immediately after they'd broken up with her. Was she somehow responsible for this? In order to tarnish the cycle, Angie, with the help of her friends, sets up a game plan to secure a marriage proposal from Kirk, her current beau. However, the aforementioned proves difficult, especially when Angie begins to question her relationship with Kirk...

There are some fun twists in the novel.

As mentioned earlier, this is one of RDI's best installments thus far. Curnyn's characters are endearing and the situations the protagonist faces are realistic. I also love how the author describes New York City with such passion and conviction. The aforementioned city is the perfect backdrop for the story. Despite some loose ends (some of the characters vanish without so much as a postmortem), this is a great novel to read in one sitting. Highly recommended...

Summary: Awesome!
Review: I usually stay away from this kind of books. I found some rather boring, but I accidentally stumbled upon this one. After reading the first page, I was hooked and I had to take it home. And I wasn't disappointed that I bought it. This book is hilarious and well written. I found another great author! Can't wait to check out all her other books.
