Rating: Summary: A Great Love Story Review: I loved this book. This is one of those books I pull out and read when I am in the mood for an awesome love story. The story of Amber and Duncan is fantastic. Amber is called the untouched because nobody can touch her as she has a special gift. Then along comes Duncan who has been injured and has no memory of his past life. When he is found, he is naked except for an amber pendant and all things amber belong to Amber. I liked the way their story developed as they got to know each other and how Amber fought to have what she felt was hers. I really liked the way Duncan was developed from the first book in this series and I loved the introduction of Amber, Cassandra and Erik. I also found it enjoyable how previous characters from the first book, Enchanted, were brought in to this story. My only wish now is that Erik's story would come out!! This man is a great story waiting to happen!

Rating: Summary: great read Review: I loved this good book. It has it all. Love and passion, fire and romance. Duncan was a hunk! I loved him so much. You must read this great story.
Rating: Summary: What a love story! Review: I never thought I would like a book that was not reality based. Half of the story has characters that have special powers that often seem like curses. Amber appears to be so vulnerable with her powers but as the book goes on you realize she has more strength than most to endure what is nessesary to fufill the happy ending. Duncan pain is felt to the bone even though you want to slap some sence into him a couple of times. This story made me cry and I never cry when reading books. This showed love in its realist form-sometimes it makes you happy, other times it hurt like hell, but if true it will proveil.
Rating: Summary: The best book I've read in a long time! Review: I read this book before I read the other two. I regret it now, but these three books were the best books that I've ever read in this particular genre. I will never stop praising these books by Elizabeth Lowell. She knows when to give and when to take. An extremely good book! I recomend it to all that loves to read!
Rating: Summary: Fascinating, A Real Keeper Review: If you like mideval romances, this is the one to read. It's the best of that genre I've ever read, including the other two in this series. A warning, though - don't read this one before you read the one before it, "Untamed." Since Duncan has amnesia, you will be as confused as he is unless you know his history from "Untamed"! From the beginning when Duncan is brought to Amber naked, defenseless, and with no memory, you are intrigued by what will happen when he regains his memory. That suspense is kept up throughout the novel...Every time something triggered his memory, I'd wonder anxiously - "Will he get remember everything now?" When it finally does happen the plot doesn't slow down (as I was afraid it would once the truth was revealed). That's a rare feat! The supernatural aspect of Amber's ability to divine truth by touch was a great device and so much more satisfying than a lot of the "powers" these mideval characters get. It strips away all pretense so that all that's left is the naked emotions of the hero. And he's such a fascinating hero as well. Totally sympathetic (admittedly, he is NOT happy with Amber when he gets his memory back, and treats her badly, but at least you understand why - unlike so many romance novels that have contrived complications). The ending where the two are separated and are in anguish is very powerful and believeable, especially in the setting of the mideval romance. One last thing: this is sensual beyond belief. With naked emotion come naked sensuality! LOL Seriously, it was HOT. Definitely a keeper.
Rating: Summary: Another winner! Review: It always amazes me that I actually feel the characters pain and that I cry while I am reading Ms. Lowell's books. She is either a very talented writer or I am sorely in need of a life (both!). I read this book before I realized it was book 2 of the trilogy. I am curently reading Untamed and I am sure I will enjoy it and Enchanted as much as I enjoyed this one.
Rating: Summary: Too bad I hated the heroine. . . Review: It is truly too, too bad that I cannot stand Amber. Pardon me for saying so, but she has to be one of the most arrogant and conceited women I have ever read of, excluding all of the descendants of Bertrice Small's Skye O'Malley. Duncan is lusicious, of course. I admit I was surprised to find that the proto-villain from Untamed had returned to become the anti-hero in Forbidden. It was a nice twist. But as for that Amber wench, I must say that any girl who thinks that a person belonged to her simply because he was wearing a piece of jewelry deserves a hearty reality-check. And then there was that nonsense about being touched. . . (I'll admit I'm wary about that because after me best friend in high school read this book she started claiming to develop symptoms of Amber's condition) The best part about this entire book was Simon's "proposal" to Ariane, Duncan's original intended bride. Remove this scene from the book and toss the rest of it in a garbage can. Definitely on the lower end of Lowell's works.
Rating: Summary: This is the bomb! Review: Let me tell you, I read all genres of books and have been reading romance novels for the better part of 10 years. This is one of the best I have read! Fantastic! If you like the idea of true love, everlasting love, romance or magic. This is the book for you. You will love the all the characters. They are well written and the storyline is lovely. If you are contemplating buying just one book, get this!
Rating: Summary: A wonderful story! Review: Lowell weaves a grand story with memorable characters. Lowell offsets the unbelivable aspects of the characters with human weakness that added to the depth of the characters. I must admit I did think Amber needed more backbone to stand on her own opposite the character of Duncan, but its just my opinion. I particularly liked how she incorporated the characters from Untamed but did so without loosing readers that may not have read Untamed first. I also think Lowell could have her best book yet with the story of Erik. I'm hoping she made his character so intriguing for the same reason she mad Duncan intriguing in Untamed!
