Summary: Women like a sexy read, too.
Review: Bertrice Small wields another sexy book with erotic and hot sex scenes. Although not quite up to par with the Kadin and Beloved, this book has its own personality. I didn't like Belle's rudeness to her gentle mother. One doesn't have to be rude to be strong. I did like Mrs. Small's fascinating descriptions and historically accurate detail which is expected from her. Anyone who is offended by highly descriptive sexual prose should not read this book. Those who enjoy a good romance, but want something with a bit more juicy and tantalizing will love this book.

Summary: Mon Dieu, These Grapes Are Cold!
Review: Did anyone else notice the copious abuse of the French language during climax scenes? It's really hard to yell out "Mon Dieu!" in the throes of passion without sounding like you're sneezing uncontrollably. That's almost as unsexy as the use of grapes internally...

Summary: Small is still the best
Review: Hellion and Love slave are my favorite Bertrice Small novels. The Hellion is a very erotic novel that explores a woman's secret fantasies (mine at least). I didn't find the love scenes trashy or yucky at all. I've read and re-read it so many times and i still find it highly arousing and stimulating. To be loved by 2 men is indeed the best experience there is. Lucky Belle! Her experiences in the novel are to die for.

Summary: Full of Steam!
Review: Hellion is a wonderful book. True, it is extremely erotic and some readers might not enjoy that aspect, but for those who are not shy, it is enthralling! Belle and Hugh seem to encounter everything imagineable to keep them apart. Just when you think all will work out for them in comes the deliciously evil Guy and his wicked sister Vivienne. This book is a definite page turner, and the characters are very well written. This is another masterpiece from the queen of historical romance!

Summary: NOT FOR THE FAINT
Review: HELLION is sexually explicit, exotic, emotional and adventurous. It's the story of Isabelle (Belle), a strong-willed and hot-tempered lass in Olde England. The book is rare in that it's situations and responses are unpredictable. Belle, the heroine goes into a forced marriage, deals with the amorous advances of the King, and has a run through withcraft and sorcery. Through it all, she maintains her wits, her determination and her dedication to her family and her lands. Hellion is longer than most romantic novels, but its length allows the author freehand at creating passionate encounters and unexpectd adventures. The fiction in the book is well-woven into the real history of the times. If you're looking for something erotic and very different, this is the book for you.

Summary: truely entralling
Review: Hellion was a great read. Everyone is entittled to their own opinions but I thought it was very erotic and a fun read. I read for the entertainment and this book definately did that. Yes there are some pretty wild parts but thats part of the fun. Sometimes it's nice to walk on the wild side and step out of the everyday norm to the forbidden.

Summary: Good, but lacking in true love??
Review: I admit, thist story is not for the delicate senses. The sex scenes are very, very erotic and a little racy. I liked the male lead of Hugh. He was very strong and not your typical 'romance book man', what I mean by that is that he was not gorgeous or heart-stopping handsome or cocky. He was a plain and average man with a good heart and soul. He loved Isabelle madly and would do anything for her. The problem I had with Isabelle, or Belle as she is called, is her spoiled and downright uppity attitude towards her mother and Hugh, her husband. In my opinion, Hugh was too good for Belle. But all that aside, the story was about a man named Hugh, a knight who was ordered to marry the lady of Langston Keep to keep the king's brother at bay since his brother Richard of Normandy continued to war with his English brother and King of England, Henry I. Hugh met Belle, or Belle from Hell as they all called her since she was so unruly and rude. Hugh was shocked at first, but soon found himself in love with her and found her spirit making his heart sing. Belle could not believe she had fallen in love with this 'plain-faced' knight. (this is what I meant by her being uppity and rude) She told him even when they married that he was plain and not someone she originally saw herself with, but that she loved him and that's all that mattered. (I myself thought if I were Hugh I would tell her that she was a spoiled brat, but I was not in the story, so...LOL)Anyhow, Hugh was sent away on a mission for the king and soon found himself imprisoned in the clutches of a powerful and evil woman who claimed to be a sorceress named Vivienne. He has forgotten who he is and that he has a wife in England, for he is being held captive in Brittany. Soon Belle goes to find him when he comes up missing for a long time. She finds her beloved enchanted by this sorceress and realizes he does not remember Belle. She is soon also captured by Vivienne's brother Guy, a powerful sorcerer. Belle struggles to free herself and Hugh for the sake of their love that he can't remember...It was an excellent story with many plot twists, but I wasn't convinced Belle truly loved Hugh. I was convinced that he loved her though and found myself wishing he would realize what a brat she was, lol. But in all, it was a 4 star read and I would just warn anyone about the VERY strong sexual content in this story...

Summary: an intense and passionate novel with great sexual scenes
Review: I felt that the better romance in the story was the one between Guy and Belle. Hugh really had his nerve protesting Belle's relationship with Guy when Hugh virtually brought it about! Guy makes the ultimate sacrifice for Belle; Hugh does not. I liked the inventive and innovative sex in the book and don't have a problem with that's being in a historical romance. This also gives the book a dark edge which I also like. Remember the scene where Belle's mother loses her virginity? I felt it was highly likely that a method that crude could have been utilized back then and, once again, it contributed to a dark edge. More historical romances need some dark edges in them. To make this truly groundbreaking Belle should have tried building a relationship with Guy with perhaps Hugh dying at the hands of Guy's sister!

Summary: Hellion
Review: I have been a Bertrice Small fan for years and still have many of her books, such as the Skye O'Malley original series. While I have liked some of her other books better, Hellion is a good one. I liked the strength of Belle against the meekness of her mother. The sub characters were interesting although a bit more detail on her servant would have been better. I found it historically interesting, very erotic with some great fantasy like scenes and I will continue to read her books. You will love Belle!
