Rating: Summary: "Good to the Last Drop" Review: For a number of years I have been reading weekly from vaious books to a group of widowed and older women in a retirement home. Of the many they have heard, these books by Janette Oke have been received with acclaim by them. In fact, after reading the first four books of this series, they have requested to hear the rest of them. Janette writes with a truly entertaining insight to reveal the gamut of honest and true family and spiritual values without maudlin characteristics but with pathos, compassion and humor. I found it easy to read her stories aloud without preview. If all her writing is as good as this series, I would recommend it be a classic addition to all student reading as well as an alternative to the seamy genre so available to he public today.

Rating: Summary: like nothing ever before Review: I fell in love with this novel from the moment i picked it up. I have read it through three times now and I'm sure that won't be the last. There is something about Clark and Marty that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Just the fact that two characters could find love under such harsh circunmstances prompts a new wasy of story telling nad gives it that fresh twist. I always want to know everything about a novel before i read it, but please take my word for it, knowing anything out of the plot for this novel gives to much away. All you need to know is this, If you want to experiance what it truley means to be thankful then read this novel. This isn't only a love story, there's hope, commedy, and best of all wonderful characters. I had a very different outlook on life after reading this novel, and even more so a very different outlook on the man i want to marry. This novel will change your life. Everyone says it on here, they want to talk with people who have read this book but they leave no email. So i will leave mine. Rating: Summary: Heartwarming chronicle of life on the praire Review: I found this book lying around the house and I loved it. It helps you appreciate what you have. These pioneers had so little yet learned to enjoy the simple things. Although meant to be a story, this book contains a simple home-spun wisdom that we can all benefit from. Some passages are worth underlining. If you think you have troubles, read this, and you'll find yourself learning to depend on the God who guided these simple pioneers when there was no one else. Oh yes, it's a heart-warming romance too, and I like romance.
Rating: Summary: Heartwarming in an age of Heartache Review: I have read all the titles within this series. I looked forward to every page and tale. After reading the last installment, I was so lost with no more to read, I began them all over. I began these strictly because I loved the time setting. But finding the wonderful way that God was interwoven into the stories was a joyous surprise. I highly reccomend these, and have many times.

Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: I loved this series. After the first book, I couldn't wait to read the next... and the next... and so on. I devoured all 8 in less than a month. Each book chronicles the lives of various members of the Davis Family, beginning with young Marty, a recent widow, who marries Clark Davis to take care of his young daughter. They live on the plains in the 1800s, and times aren't easy, but community support helps their little town to thrive. And Marty, deep in grief over the loss of her first husband (and carrying his child!), soon finds that love can happen at the most unexpected times. Each book in this series is great. Don't be upset by the fact that the second book claims to have Missy (Clark's daughter) all grown up. That happens eventually, but there will be plenty more children to read about, along with marriages and adventures. This series is a real treat.
Rating: Summary: Love Really Does Come Softly Review: I read the first edition of Janette Oke's series (Love Comes Softly)not long after it came out. I think there was probably two in the series when I first started reading the series. Love Comes Softly is wonderful. I loved it and all the remaining books in the series. As I was reading the series I couldn't wait until the next one came out. Clark and Marty find love in a very difficult situation. I love the part about the biscuts, chicken and the disapointment Marty felt when her Christmas was taken by the snowstorm. This is a wonderful read. I've loaned my books out to numerous friends and family, so that they can enjoy the story too. I think it would make a wonderful movie (I heard that Michael Landon Jr. may produce a movie from this series OH! I hope it is true).
