Summary: Excellent !
Review: This is an excellent book in my opinion. I totally enjoyed it. This is only the second book I have read by Iris Johansen, and I was just as impressed with this book as I was with the first one, (And Then You Die). This book was full of great suspense, and kept a good pace. (I also didn't want it to end.) I would definately recommend it to anyone who likes a good suspense with a touch of romance thrown in.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Enjoyable, but not Iris Johansen's best work
Review: This novel is a decent read, but too long for the plot and its resolution. Kate Denby, the central character, as a previous reviewer mentioned, really is too young to realistically have made it where she is in her career and her life.

Also her wishy-washy fastasizing between Noah and Seth goes against the grain of the rest of her personality, which is portrayed as very determined and clear-headed.

Finally, the character of the man who is stalking her is simply ridiculous and doesn't "fit" within the framework of the story. Perhaps that was the author's intention: in a novel of modern science and conspiracies, to have a very spiritually "evil" villain, but it just doesn't work.

I am a big fan of Iris Johansen, but this novel, while mildly entertaining, was not up to her typical cutting-edge, mysteries with crisp well-defined and realistic characters.

Summary: This book was excellent. It was very captivating.
Review: You know a book is a great book when you identify with the characters so much that you do not want the book to end, because you feel as if the characters are part of your life. That is this book. Kudos to Johansen for bringing Kate, Noah, Seth, Phyliss and Joshua to life. It is unfortunate what happened to Noah, however Kate couldn't have them both and Seth was the obvious choice!...This was the first Iris Johansen book I have read, but you can bet I will be reading another. I hope the quality of her other books hold my unwavering attention as much as Long After Midnight did.
