Summary: Everyone is a suspect!
Review: At least one time in the book, the author makes the reader suspect every character! I do not recommend books to friends very often, but this one is making the rounds at work! And everyone is saying the same thing....everyone could be the suspect!

Summary: Research is needed
Review: First off, I enjoyed the book.

However (you knew that was coming), I wish Ms Harper had done a better job of research on the Amish and their lifestyle. I'm not an expert on the Amish myself, but I do know that Percheron horses are black or gray in color. Every time I started to really get into the book, the author would refer to the team of Percherons as blond. OK, I know that's not really important, but she did it over and over and over and each time I read that misinformation I got distracted from the story itself. Maybe we need some copy editors that live outside the city to read books and do some corrections; or authors that take the time to do more research.

Summary: "An Amish Suspense Novel"
Review: I could not put this book down! Every page was full of excitement and entertainment. I enjoy reading novels about the Amish, but this is my favorite. I packed this book for our out of town visit to my parents. I did not have time to finsh the book during the weekend visit. We were traveling home and my 10 year old son read the last few chapters out loud to me while I drove. I could not wait to get home to read it! He became interested in the story as he read it to me, and we discussed the entire book when he finshed. Thanks for a great book!

Summary: Best Suspense
Review: I enjoyed reading this book and learning about the Amish life styles and beliefs. A good whodunit that won't disappoint even the most toughest critics. A story of a widowed mother of twins whose husband had died in a freak accident. Was it an accident? If not who and why would someone want to kill an amish man. Too many characters to choose from. Good sideline romance thrown into the pages as well. Read and enjoy.

Summary: A surprise ending!
Review: If you like a mystery with cultural interest and a little romance thrown in, this is it. "Down to the Bone" had me guessing who-done-it the entire way through. I thought it was very well written and so interesting to learn about the culture of the Amish community.
