Rating: Summary: FANTASTIC READ! LOVED IT! Review: Actually I thought i would like this book much more since it was by Connie Mason , who at one time was also my favorite author, but maybe since I've read other Pirate books by other authors I found myself seeing Ms Mason's style as rather too simplistic for my tastes. The story is good and some scenes are quite intresting but there is not enough detail to suit me. I love Pirate romances and it is a pity that this book was not developed more and neither the characters are. But don't get me wrong. I m not saying that this book is not intresting or anything. It is , it really is but I can't help feeling that Ms Mason could have done much more in it. I have 6 other books from her and a couple of them are really entertaining. I especaily like My Lady Vixen , which incidentally was also the first Connie Mason book i have ever read. My Lady Vixen is also a kind of pirate romance but somehow it satisfied me much more than this one and it was more exciting. But I would like to end by saying that Tempt the Devil is good and i do recommend it but if you have not read My Lady Vixen I would recommend you do becouse that book is really good!
Rating: Summary: Good, but not Connie Mason's best. Review: I am a really big fan of Connie Mason. This was the first Connie Mason book that I read and I loved it so much, I decided to purchase everyone that she had ever written. I haven't been disappointed yet!
Rating: Summary: First and Best Review: I am a really big fan of Connie Mason. This was the first Connie Mason book that I read and I loved it so much, I decided to purchase everyone that she had ever written. I haven't been disappointed yet!
Rating: Summary: Good, but not Connie Mason's best. Review: I believe I would have enjoyed this book more if there had been one less abduction of the leading lady, Devon. Three times she was taken from the hero of the story, her lover and eventual husband Kit; AKA "Diablo" the notorious pirate. The first time you can feel for the couple. The second time, you can still sympathize. The third time, you're just left feeling "oh brother... again?" The last time was also annoying because she could have easily escaped from the "deaf/ mute" maid that she was left with... but she never even tried. I'm a big Connie Mason fan. I love many of her books, including "The Lion's Bride", "The Laird of Stonehaven", "Sheik", and "Lionheart." However, this one repeated it's themes and restated the history of the many characters over and over again. I believe it could have been great, if about 100 pages of it had been deleted. I was also dismayed at the way every single character found love in the end. A bit too idealistic. Even two of the worst foes of the story, who kidnapped and even tried to kill the leading lady, never got justice... instead finding true love. Only one foe of the story actually received his just punishment. It was still a good read, because Mason made the leading couple so magnetic. The love scenes are good, although they also got a bit repetitive. I liked both the hero and the leading lady. All of the characters of the book very vividly written. Overall, I just wasn't as enthralled in Mason's story line as I have been with her other books.
Rating: Summary: A good fantasy romance Review: I have read a lot of Connie Mason books, most are good. In this book the capture scenes are a little to much, I mean who in their right minds would allow themselves to be taken that many times, but of course this is fiction. Overall this is a interesting book. The plots are good, and of course you've got plenty of sex scenes, as with most of her books, but all in all it makes for a good fantasy reading book. At least her heros ,adn heroins are strong figures, most of the time. I enjoyed and will buy more.
Rating: Summary: This is a GREAT book! Review: This book is the second Connie Mason I've read--the first being Shiek--but not the last! The characters are likeable and the plot is great, especially the subplot of Devon's fiancee, "Winnie". Devon is intelligent and brave, among her other qualities, and Diablo is great, often betraying his softer side to Devon. NO JOKE, the best pirate story I've ever read. Kudos to Connie Mason!
Rating: Summary: Okay Review: This book was entirely to long. I like the sex scenes but I think there were to many. I usually like Connie Mason books especially "The Black Knight". This one not so good.
Rating: Summary: My favorite Connie Mason book! Review: This was the first Connie Mason book I ever read, and I always find myself coming back to it. This book throroughly entertains the reader from start to finish. The sex scenes are hot, and the plot keeps right on moving. I even lent this book to a doubtful male friend of mine, who scoffed at me for reading romance novels. I challenged him to read this book. If he thought it was stupid, he could feel free to mock me for the rest of my life, BUT if he liked it, he could never tease me again for reading "fluff". He confessed that even HE got aroused reading the sex scenes, and he enjoyed the book so much, he asked me for another. Any author who can entice a man to read these romance novels (which are usually written by women, for women) is extremely talented! It's hard to go wrong with Connie Mason.
Rating: Summary: This book is Awsome. Review: You will not be able to put this book down. I read it in two days. It is a fast pace love story that has you on the edge through the whole book. Thankyou Connie Mason you are Great!
