Rating: Summary: strong sports romance Review: Superbowl MVP quarterback Bobby McIntyre returns home to El Paso to recover from a bad knee injury and a concussion suffered in a professional football game to learn that his sister Beth fired his friend as manager of Bobby's Place. She also hired Lacey Wright to run the establishment that is losing money because they give away a fortune in alcohol for free. Bobby plans to fire her until he learns she is a single mother. Because of his mother's desertion he cannot sack her until she at least screws up.A week has passed and Bobby remains very aware of Lacey though he is not sure why as prim and proper is not his normal type of woman and he knows she thinks he is a dumb jock. He admires her for staying with Robin but knows she is bad for a bar as she behaves like everyone's mom. As they get to know each other, Bobby and Lacey fall in love, but though she begins to loosen up, he believes that she will leave him like everyone else in his life except his sister who has stood by him. This sports romance stars two characters that carry baggage from their youth into relationships so that they never make it out of the first quarter before calling time out. The engaging story line focuses on love breaking down psychological barriers though the individual troubles of the lead couple seem too repetitive. Still Lacey and Bobby are a fine couple and the support cast, mainly his sister, her daughter, and her daughter's boyfriend make for a novel that scores plenty of touchdowns. Harriet Klausner

Rating: Summary: Loving Linda Lee Review: This one was recommended by one of the people at my used book store, so I picked it up. I really enjoyed the story, although I had a few problems with it, which is why it was 4 stars instead of 5. 1st, one of the premises of the book was that Lacey got pregnant in H.S. and had to drop out, her family kicked her out, and she was on her own. I can see that happening, and I understand that it would be hard to get a job with a baby to support and no H.S. degree, but what I am trying to figure out, is how all of these people found out that Lacey had never been married. I personally don't know anyone these days that thinks (if they do, they keep it to theirselves) much about a child born with out a father. It is almost common, and I had a hard time beleiving that Robin (Lacey's daughter)never had friends because she was a "love" child. Other than that, I really liked it, and would definately try another book of this authors.

Rating: Summary: One of the best. Review: When I see a book by Linda, I dont have to read the back to buy it. I have not had a disapointment yet.
This book is right up there with the rest of them. I basically fell in love with Bobby after he had his flash back involving his mother. I have to say that it broke my heart and I balled like a baby for Bobby. Very touching. Although, sometimes I did not like how mean he was at times. I though it went just a little too far. Not enough to kill the story or my liking of Bobby though. I finished this book in one day and went over it again. It was good.
I liked Lacey's daughter, Robin and even her romance ws not so bad. It was a little wierd at first being that she is young. But it was a young romance and in the end just as touching.
So, why if I loved this book so much did I only give it 4 stars? Here is why. The whole thing about Lacey being an unwed mother and being shunned by people and towns was over done. Being that I am a single unwed mother myself, I know what kind of grief people give. And yes, some are more opinionated then others and some openly show disproval, it is not as bad as the book made it out to be. It almost sounded like it was from the 50's when being an unwed mother was forbidden. Also, at times Lacey was just unbelievably overprotective. It was silly the way she handled some of the situations with her daughter. Everyone makes mistakes and most people take the blame themselves, liek they should. I did not agree with Lacey punishing Robin for the mistakes she made almost 20 years ago. It was in NO way believable at all. And lastly, I did not like Bobby's name. Its silly I know, but I did not like the whole "Bobby Mac" It just reminded me of Micky D's Big Mac everytime I read it.
But those are all such little things, so thye do not make a difference in the overall story, except lacey with Robin, that kind of put a damper on things.
Overall, one of the best books and highly recommended. Enjoy!!
