Summary: Disappointing Read for a Cameron fan
Review: I was excited about this book because I had read the other books in this series (More & More and All Smiles) and was looking forward to reacquainting myself with the characters. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. The story was bizarre (which is not always a bad thing) and confusing. Sibyl Smiles wants a baby but doesn't want a husband so naturally she turns to her friend and neighbor Hunter Llyod. The conflicts from this situation are not well explored and there is another confusing side plot involving Hunter's involvement in a high profile trial. There was too much going on and the resolution of the conflicts don't make sense. Overall I ended the book with a sense of puzzlement over what had just taken place. Stella Cameron usually hits with me but this was a rare miss.

Summary: Author's most entertaining historical romance to date
Review: In 1822 London, the remaining resident of town house 7B decides at twenty-eight she wishes to raise a child. Perhaps it is loneliness since her sister Meg married. Still, shy Sibyl Smiles knows that she wants her neighbor, friendly barrister Hunter Lloyd, to sire the child with her without any matrimonial strings.

Hunter is already in love with Sibyl. However, this is not the time for Sybil to turn into a seductress siren as he has made enemies that could endanger his beloved if any one knew how much he loves her. Hunter has just successfully defended a friend of the monarch and the losers want vengeance with the barrister and Sibyl, being easier targets. As Hunter tries to keep Sibyl safe, long time ghostly resident Septimus Spivey plays matchmaker in the hope of ridding himself of pesky non-descendent mortals.

Stella Cameron's 7 Mayfair books are always fun to read and her latest may be her most entertaining to date. Sybil and Hunter are a charming duo while Septimus remains his usually humorous and cantankerous self, arguing with other ghosts and plotting a dehumanization campaign. The story line is filled with action as the villains plan to "appeal" the court ruling through any means including violence and murder until their side triumphs. Best- selling Ms. Cameron has written another amusing tale filled with warm characters, many of which appeared in the series previous two books.

Summary: Not worth the time
Review: It is so difficult to find a well written romance novel. I spend so much time waiting for my favorite authors to come out with their newest offerings-- I am always looking for someone to augment my collection. I took the Amazon "customers that bought this book also bought" recommendation and tried this book. It was confusing and not well plotted. I believe I will just keep waiting for Joan Wolf, Carla Kelly and Mary Balogh to write again.

Summary: Suspense and steamy love scenes
Review: Nobody does it like Stella Cameron, and if you're a fan of historical romance, you'll love this one. Enjoy Sibyl's tale as she solves the mystery and finds the man of her dreams!

Summary: Lost in 7B!!
Review: Oh Stella!! There is quite definitely a wonderful story here trying desperately to get out - much like your obnoxious ghost Spivey, but neither quite make it. Hunter and Sibyl are clearly a great match and their scenes together are extraordinarily sensual (more information on his amazing "talent" please?); unfortunately, the confusion that permeates their affair also permeates the rest of the story and makes it hard to classify this as a couldn't-put-it-down-er. For those of us who love the adventures of these eccentric folks it was a must-buy, but for those who are just finding Stella Cameron, I'd recommend "More and More" or "Sheer Pleasures" to whet their appetite, not this warm-hearted muddle!

Summary: 7B
Review: Once again Stella Cameron combines a lively blend of humor and sensuality that makes 7B such a rewarding read. I love the touch of paranormal with the ghost of Sir Septimus Spivey, who lives in the newel post at No. 7 Mayfair Square where he is hard at work trying to get the lovely Sybil Smiles and Hunter Lloyd wedded and bedded before Sybil goes through with her plan to have a baby by Hunter, and no marriage. It seems Sybil is a liberated woman and she and her group of female friends has meetings to discuss the male and female anatomy and how it works. Some of the conversations that are held by this group would have you laughing out loud, especially when Sybil can picture the eligible men's private parts when they are in her presence.

She's in love with Hunter and has chosen him to be the father of her baby. Needless to say, Hunter is shocked when she approaches him with her wild scheme. He refuses her as he is in the middle of a special case in his position of barrister, and his life is in danger, and so is Sybil's when the killers think to get to Hunter though Sybil. Sybil is a delight with her modern thinking and endearing ways. The gal has a lot of spunk!

After Hunter's refusal, Sybil goes to Plan B, and this causes mass confusion and a lot of trouble between friends. As you can imagine, Hunter has his hands full. Sir Spivey is beside himself with worry over all the events that are spiraling out of control, as he knows those things are not running that smoothly, and he's being hounded by Sir Thomas More to get him in his angel school. What next? Plenty. No. 7 Mayfair Street has three of the most eligible and devastating men imaginable in residence all vying for Sybil's attention. If Sybil knew of their reputations with women she faint dead away!

7B is filled with a crazy cast of colorful characters that I fell in love with. I was sorry I was just coming in on book three in this delightful series. Now I'll have to dig through my "To Be Read" pile and find the first two books, MORE AND MORE, and ALL SMILES, since I don't want to miss out on all the fun. Ms. Cameron is a scribbler deluxe as she spins her special sparkling tales of love and romance that sizzle and set off sparks everywhere.

Summary: Disjointed
Review: The best that can be said is that it was disjointed. I couldn't follow the mystery subplot, the heroine was self absorbed, and although you knew who the hero was, Ms. Cameron did not make the choice obvious.

Summary: Oh my my my.....
Review: The incongruity of the front cover--a blossom-filled window box with snow icing the adjacent brick and nearby street lamp--gives a clue as to what's inside Cameron's "7B". It ain't pretty.

Trashy language accompanies unlikeable characters--except the horse in the stall "Nightrider" who we don't get to know well. A pity, since the horse seemed a decent fellow, unlike the probably veneral-disease ridden Hunter Lloyd who is the "hero". Hunter would have been spreading VD around because of the number, and the low quality, of women he has sex with. I stopped reading when the author told how he has had sex with a woman lying on a pub table in full sight of everyone else in the room, no less! I suppose I should have stopped reading when she cut to a graphic sex scene in the middle of the book between a man and a woman that hadn't been introduced until then. Why would I want to read about sex between two people I have nothing invested in as a reader? Oh yeah, it wasn't just two people--they involved two innocent dill pickles in their perversion as well.

Cameron gets the one star for having good character names. Too bad she doesn't have a talent for everything else connected with romance novels. How the heck does she stay published?

Summary: Skip it, run, don't even think about it.
Review: This book was terrible. The first out of hundreds I never finished. The setting had potential and I love steamy love scenes, but these were just...gross, frustrating and weird. Way too graphic for even this genre. And Ghost inhabitants that sort of act as narrators, I skipped those before I realized I was wasting my time with the book altogether. Our time is just too valuable. Really, skip this one. It was my first by this author, and unfortunately, now she's on my black list.
