Summary: GREAT JOB KIM
Review: Destiny's song was a good story. I really liked the way the author developed her characters. They were so believable that they reminded me of some people I know personally.

Destiny was taking a much needed vacation after her ex-boyfriend was sentenced to jail. He had stalked and mentally abused her long enough and she was so glad it was over, or so she thought. She went to visit an old flame in Altanta. She and Davis had been high school sweethearts. Davis had become a sucessful systems engineer and had all types of clients.

Xavier decided to stop by Davis' place to go over some plans for his new recording studio. He found Destiny singing and dancing to his music. He actually caught her off guard and she pushed him down the stairs. As time went on Xavier and Destiny really found themselves attracted to each other. Destiny trusted Xavier so much she told him about her crazy ex-boyfriend.

There was passion, conflict, and yes even the crazy ex-boyfriend. Eventhough this is Kim's first novel, she did a great job at making her book come to life. I also enjoyed the secondary characters. I look forward to her next novel.

Great Job Kim

Summary: Destiny's Song is A MUST READ!
Review: Detiny's Song is a definite must read. Why do I say this? Because Kim Whiteside has managed to cover issues of abuse and trust that many African American women face today. She does this in a realistic setting and with believeable characters.

Destiny's Song is about a woman whose life is turned upside down because of her bad choice in men. (Something that many sisters experience every day). One minute her life is picture perfect. She has a career she loves as a photo historian and a man who shares the same appreciation for the arts. Then in a flash when the pressure becomes too great for him, he sucuumbs to his weakness (alcohol) and become a vile and violent beast. When the crazed ex-boyfriend, Rico, is finally jailed for three years for his offenses, Destiny escapes to Atlanta, GA in search of the person she once was as well as to spend some time with an old friend.

Embracing the chance to get away, Destiny is impressed by the city as well as by the fact that her friend, Davis, is a well aquainted with the new recording artist, Xavier Allgood. Not once in a million years did she think she would meet the man behind the music whom she has developed a "crush".

She is equally surprised, when Davis suggests that she assists Xavier on his next project. Of course, Destiny jumps at the chance to work closely with the "man of her dreams". During the course of their time spent with each other, Destiny learns that Xavier is truly a genuine, caring and humble spirit who happens to make her smile at an given moment, and who helps her to put her past with Rico far out of her mind. Xavier knows what it is like to be in a failed relationship and he is apprehensive about getting involved with her. However, neither can deny the chemistry between them and feelings of admiration, turn into love. Destiny knows regardless of how their love-relationship turns out, her life will never be the same, if not for his friendship. The story continues to explore their discovery of one another ending with an unexpected altercation that requires them both to let down their guard and to let love lead the way.

Whiteside has managed to take a dream and turn it into a possibility. All of her characters, including the secondary ones are well developed and support the thrust of the story line. Any woman who has felt hopeless and helpless in an abusive relationship can heal from Destiny's experience and realize that they can conquer any obstacle.

Summary: What a great first book!!
Review: For a new author Kim Louise comes out with a bang. Her characters are believable and with such a sensitive topic she writes in away that will touch everyone. Even the secondary characters are well developed.

After being in a abusive relationship Destiny needs to get away and get to know herself again. When her ex-boyfriend is sentence to 3 years in prison, Destiny decides to go to Atlanta to visit her high school boyfriend Davis. Before she leaves her best friend gives her Xavier Allgood's latest CD. While listening to the CD she develops a secret crush for Allgood.

After getting settled in Davis's house she is surprise to see Xavier watching her sing his music. Davis and Xavier talk Destiny into doing a photo shoot for Xavier. They begin to spend a lot of time with each other and fall in love. But are reluctant to explore their new found love because of their past relationships and Xavier thinks that Destiny and Davis are an item.

I don't want to tell you too much only that you have to go and get this book. You will enjoy every minute. And Destiny's friend Jacq will have you laughing out loud. I hope to see more of her in Kim's future book.

Great job Kim and I can't wait until your next book A Touch Away in July.

Summary: First Debut: Outstanding!
Review: Have you ever experienced the wait for a book that you have know for quite some time it was going to be in the bookstores? Well this is one of those books! Kim, happens to be apart of some fantastic women who have a passion for AA Romance Novels. We have witnessed her developing days to this point of her life. So it is indeed a pleasure to say I am one of many who is very happy to finally read the finished project and say to Kim how proud I am of her for Destiny's Song.

To my romance buddies out there: I am highly recommending this heart-warming story about photographer, Destiny Chandler and successful singer, Xavier Allgood. The author has done an excellent job of presenting us with a good plot that involves the after-math of Destiny's freedon from the obsessed boyfriend-turned stalker and Xavier dealing with the trust of women. The meeting of Destiny and Xavier is very well developed and the author does not make us wait until half way through the book when they are introduced. I enjoyed her getting right into the relationship developing at the pace she presents to us.

If you enjoy the romance books that can give you: easy reading, intimacy, sensuality, love for music, lots of laughter and the twist of suspense and danger, then go out and purchase, "Destiny's Song." The author's presentation will not disappoint you by no uncertain means.

To my special group, they know who they are, I think the friend of the heroine, Jacq who added such refreshing humor to this story, will remind you of all of us combined.

Thanks Kim for this one!! You know how we discuss our favorite books, well yours will now be in that category. Wishing you nothing but many blessings to come. Looking forward to many more books from you!!!

Summary: "All for Destiny"
Review: I definitely felt the artist tempo of this book, not only was Xavier Allgood a phenominal talent musically but also a man. Destiny Chandler went through a soul shattering experience with Rico Freeman ending with his incarceration for his many violations of protection she had against him. Destiny needed a get away and she reached out to an old flame Davis seeking to find her way back to her old self, who she finds is Xavier the man of every womans fantasy to include hers.

Destiny's rebirth begins to emerge when she finds that Davis is working on a project with Xavier, soon her professional help as a photographer is solicited by Xavier for ideas on his upcoming CD. The possibility of anything but friendship between she and Davis becomes evident to Destiny as her feelings become more than professional toward Xavier, Xavier is aware of his own building emotions for Destiny but does not want to compromise his relationship with Davis.

With Xavier's careful and tender actions toward Destiny he is able to reach into that place of her inner hurt that came out of her relationship with Rico and their love for each other begins to bloom. However, Rico is still tormented and will stop at nothing to have his "Destiny", but it is Xavier's love and protection of his "Destiny" that proves to be her saving grace.

I was glad to see Davis and Jacq together, Davis is a good brother that had to slow down to find more than work to satisfy him. I had to get into the books flow but all and all this was a great first effort.

Summary: Very Romantic!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I loved the way this book was written; even though, Destiny was still dealing with her abusive relationship with her ex-boyfriend who is in jail she finds it in her heart to deal with her pass when she meets the sexy and charming Xaiver. This is just the cake without the icing you have to read the book to get the DL on the rest. I garantee that you will not be dissapointed when you read this.

Summary: Excellent
Review: I read this book in two days and found it to be enjoyable. Not my usual genre, but I liked the characters, with my personal favorite being Jacq. I liked the two guys/one girl conflict in the story with one nasty man lingering in the background, and the reader knowing he will show up eventually. The song lyrics Ms. Louise wrote added a lot to the story. The final song lyrics she used at the end of the book were perfect and really contributed to what I found to be a satisfying ending to this novel. If you are looking to pick up a romantic read that will warm your heart on a cold, winter day, I recommend Kim Louise's, "Destiny's Song!"
