Rating: Summary: Lots of adventure, sexual tension Review: After traveling back into time, the heroine finds herself in the middle of the Irish conflict. She and the hero race pell mell over the countryside, escaping all sorts of foes.I found the heroine's reaction to everything believable. She travels back in time, but she doesn't curl up in shock. Instead, she bounces back. The hero is a rogue, but so much more than that. Both the characters have depths and backgrounds that are revealed slowly. The secondary characters are a mixed bag. One bad spot was Kiervan's would-be fiancee. Aaargh! Why did he have to struggle so over the decision about whether to marry her? I gave this book at B+ at All About Romance.
Rating: Summary: A Magical Read Review: Alanna Chapman knows that her beloved Aunt Maude O'Sullivan needs her. So
even though it is tax season back in Durango, Colorado, the CPA and her
fiancé, Bill Boyer, trek high into the Rockies to visit her aunt, who prefers
isolation and no telephones. When they reach the cabin, Alanna finds her aunt
is dying. Maude passes her magical Dragon Heart stone to Alanna, telling her
that one day she will believe in the magic. She also asks Alanna her to
spread her ashes while
chanting an ancient Celtic burial rite that needs to occur two weeks before
the tax deadline. Alanna cannot refuse Maude anything, so she agrees.
When Alanna performs the Celtic ritual, she finds herself traveling through
time to 1803 Ireland where she meets Kiervan des Morceaux, who has been sent
to recruit her as a seer so she can fulfill an ancient prophesy. With only
her stone and her inexperience in magic, Alanna must find a way to keep the
peace even if it means losing the man she now loves with all her heart.
IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT is a very humorous time travel romance due to the
magical, and often-time bellicose (at least towards each other) lead
characters who will captivate readers' hearts. Though the sexual segments do
not blend as well into an overall wonderful story line, Leslie LaFoy shows
incredible depth and talent in her debut novel. This is a must read for fans
of the time travel sub-genre.

Rating: Summary: I loved every spellbinding moment of the story!! Review: I was looking for something different in Historical romance and came upon this book on the shelf. With curious intent, I bought it and began to read it that very night. I couldn't put it down! I had to read every single word of the story. Talk about spellbinding and intense. I've always loved cross-time stories and this is one of the best I've read in a LONG time. Having gone through a recent bout of the flu, I picked it up again and the magic and the power of the words STILL holds me at the edge of my seat! To Leslie LaFoy I stand tall and yell "BRAVO!" I await the outcome of more of her books! Please, let me know when they come out!! Spellbinding and thrilling books such as this should not be left to just one.
Rating: Summary: An intelligent spell-binding time travel! Review: I was very pleasantly surprised. This is one of the view books that toughed my emotions. It contained humour, suspense, bravado and titillating romance. The characters Alanna and Kiervan had sparks flying. I couldn't put the book down. Thanks Ms. LaFoy for the wonderful read. I look forward to other books.
Rating: Summary: It Happened One Night Review: I'm tired of the petulant, sulky, angry heroine that is always focused on herself and won't deal with reality. I found myself completely bored with the heroine with in about 10 pages. It was as if the author had cut and paste the same dialog over and over again. It got old very quickly. There was no depth of character, no interest in the new environment or the other people in her world. She was too busy ranting and raving. How interesting is this? Please...I can't bring myself to finish this book. Give me character development like Elizabeth Thornton any day of the week! I'm a big fan of time travel...but I'd never buy a book by this author again. Period. I wasted my money on this book.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Time-travel romance Review: Not since Katherine Hepburn was paired with
Spencer Tracy have two characters had such feisty
fun on the long and often rocky road to true love
and a lasting relationship. Alanna Chapman is the
recognizable '90s business woman: smart, tough
and a survivor in a man's world. She grew up
knocking around the Colorado Rockies, so she also
has an outdoorsy kind of street smarts that can
usually keep her out of trouble. That is, until
her eccentric Aunt Maude reveals that Alanna is
the last of a long line of Celtic Shamans and
dispatches the girl to fulfill a centruies old
Irish prophesy. With the help of Celtic magic, an
ancient circle of standing stones and a magic
brooch, Alanna finds herself transported back to
Ireland in 1803, into the midst of an Irish
rebellion and into the arms of Kiervan de Marceaux.
Keirvan is a gun-running privateer who has built
his life from nothing and must convince Alana to
fulfill her role in the prophesy if he is to sell
his boatload of munitions and gain a position in
"respectable society". It seems an easy task, if
he can manage to not get killed protecting her
back side. He doesn't count on her interfering
with his pending arranged marraige to a prominent
socialite and frankly doesn't quite know what to
make of her 20th century views on men, women and
relationships. The sparks fly and the magic
simmers as these two try to decide what to do with
one another and Alanna develops her powers as a
Seer of the Ancient Find.
The plot of "It Happened One Night" has enough
twists and turns to keep you spellbound until the
wee hours of the morning; plus strong character
izations of Alanna and Kiervan and a delightful
cast of supporting characters. The supense is
real, but surprise, surprise...these two have a
sense of humor that will have you chuckling out
loud as you read. Don't let the "Time Travel"
label scare you off this unique debut novel by
Leslie LaFoy. Come on, you all watched "I Dream
of Jeanie" and "My Favorite Marian" didn't you?
And trust me, you don't want to miss all the
adventure on this road to romance.

Rating: Summary: Excellent Time-travel romance Review: This is how it is supposed to be done. An intelligently written time-travel romance with wonderful characters that draw you into the story. I especially like the scene where Alanna Chapman faces the British militia and uses her street smarts to fend them off. A great heroine.
