Rating: Summary: A Fresh and Exciting Read -- Bravo! Review: Anne Rice in her "Vampire Chronicles" left open a door for "Blood Hunters" to seed and grow a new "vine" of Vampires. Now enters Cindy Gengler with a fantastic tale of Vamp expansion. This door opens in the 1800s with the "Fallen Angels/Rafe's Heart" cast appearing in broad daylight. Sleeping in beds, walking in the shadows of oaks and elms -- they no longer fear the photons emitted by our sun. No longer forced to sleep in their native soils, these new UN-dead now walk the (Anne Rice's) forbidden city of New Orleans. Another gift bestowed upon Gengler's Vampires is a sense of morality. We find Raphael (Rafe) loveless for over two centuries. Yet, he is an entity with needs and mortal desires that rip apart his eternal heart. Can he ever love, a mortal? Gengler's new vine, new strain of vampires, grows chillingly -- bigger and bigger. The need to hunt blood, just as Anne Rice depicted, keeps the reader turning pages in a heart-pounding tempo. And beware, the addition of a beautiful and magical fairy, turned evermore to the light of Gengler's strain of daylight Vampires. This first novel is a well-written, exceptionally well-plotted premiere twist on Vampire lore. Get a copy of this novel now. Sink your teeth into an exciting and exceptional read. Enigmatic, fresh, sexually blatant, and - most assuredly - a bloody good read.
Rating: Summary: Heated Non-Stop Eroticism Review: Cindy Gengler has written an intriguing story of three men brought together in search of escape from their painful beginnings. Charmed by the evil Katherine, the men named Fallen Angels, soon find themsleves bound by blood in search of good vs. evil and the fine line that separates the two. Gabriel turns his back on the only true love he may ever know, the beautiful Sidhe fairy Sasha, with now tainted blood. Will he ever be able to forgive the princess for damning him to eternal life? Or will he fall for the innocent Sara, whose incredible features so resemble Sasha? Michael struggles to discover the difference between his carnal urges and true compassion for someone other than himself. Perhaps Morrigan St. John holds the key to unlocking the foreign emotion, or maybe his infatuation with the dark Vampire Katherine will overtake him in the end. Finally we have Rafe, the dark complicated soul who must spend eternity without unlocking the heart he slammed shut so long ago. His abusive past along with the fear to control his dark urges keep him on guard when he meets his match, Montgomery Sinclair. Will he finally open his heart to the possibility of love? And if he does, will Montgomery return his affections or will she drawn into the shadows of the Fallen Angels dark secrets? This reader was captured from page one. I wouldn't consider myslef an avid reader of dark vampire themes, however, this book was intriguing with its heated non-stop eroticism. From one chapter to the next, I couldn't read fast enough. The only problem I had with this book was the ability to live my life normally until it was finished. The Fallen Angels are characters I'd like to read about again. But when you have three immortal heroes as charismatic as Gabriel, Michael and Rafael - the possibilities are endless. I hear a sequel is in the mix - I can't wait to read it!
Rating: Summary: Fresh Twist On An Immortal Theme. Review: Cindy Gengler's first novel is a winner! Diverse characters, quick humor, action packed subplots, and silky smooth lovescenes mark the author of Fallen Angels/Rafe's Heart as one of a new breed in vampire romance. Keep an eye out for Ms. Gengler, she's definitely a keeper.
Rating: Summary: Mouth watering heros... Review: Dying to take a bite out of a new vapire series? Cindy Gengler's Fallen Angels are a tasty treat for the paranormal connoisseur. Hot, spicy and better than chocolate, Rafe's Heart is addictive to the discriminating palate and keeps the reader hungry for more!
Rating: Summary: A Righteous Read! Review: Fate had brought them together; blood was the bond that sealed their relationship . . . They were dubbed 'The Fallen Angels', social outcast to the ton. Their reclusive existence captured the attention of a 400-year-old sorceress who had turned immortal. Her fiendish intent was to make the three hers by bestowing the dark gift she possessed to each of them. Her childlike innocence fooled the unsuspecting trio. Forever they would pay the price of unwittingly falling into her poisonous spider's web. . . for they were dammed to walk forever in eternity. Cindy Gengler's Fallen Angels / Rafe's Heart contains all the elements paranormal fans crave. What I found so unique about this novel was the ability for the reader to see how the characters were given the dark gift hundreds of years prior. Then the setting changes, and the trio find themselves in modern day New Orleans, a city that is overflowing with darkness and mystery. There, they are constantly fighting the demons that are intent on destroying their existence. In the mist of the mayhem, I found a beautifully crafted love story that begged to be revealed and explored. I predict this author's fresh new voice will be one that will have fans demanding to see more of her mesmerizing work.

Rating: Summary: delightful vampire romance Review: In 1802 London, friends and society pariahs Raphael Fahlan, Michael Wyhndym and Gabriel Arden save the life of David Mallory. The grateful duke helps them regain their lost positions while the Ton calls them the Fallen Angels. Katherine Darien, a vampire, selects the threesome to serve as her protectors against the cretin who converted her. She becomes David's lover before killing him once she meets the Angels. Katherine converts Michael into a vampire and tries to kill Rafe and Gabriel. A sister vampire Sasha saves Gabriel by changing him over while Katherine in her haste to murder Rafe, converts him into a vampire. Two centuries later, the Fallen Angels live in New Orleans. Gabriel is a homicide detective who loves and hates Sasha while Rafe and Michael run a nightclub. They hire security specialist Montgomery "Gomery" Sinclair to insure the safety of their patrons, but the attraction between the female security specialist and Rafe is torrid. However, Katherine hates the Fallen Angles almost as much as she detests her "sire". She sees "Gomery" as a tool to destroy at a minimum at least Rafe, her most passionate enemy of the threesome. FALLEN ANGELS/RAFE'S HEART is a delightful vampire romance that hooks the audience from the moment Gomery throws a counterpoint jab at Rafe. The story line is loaded with action, but also provides the audience insight into the key cast members, especially Rafe. Fans of plenty of blood flowing tales need to look elsewhere. However, readers who appreciate a complex tale with horror elements interwoven into a cross-species love story will relish this book. The audience will want the romantic adventures of the other Angels told especially between Sasha and Gabriel. Harriet Klausner
Rating: Summary: Vampires, Magic, New Orleans. What more could a girl want? Review: The worlds of dark vampires, magical fairies, and modern day New Orleans are delicately woven into this dramatic, romantic thriller. As a person who reads an average of 5 or more books a week, I can honestly say that Fallen Angels/Rafe's Heart is one of the best contemporary novels I've ever read. The combination of humor, romance, violence and drama tangles the reader in a veritable cornucopia of emotions. Between the laughter, the tears, and the moments where you are too stunned to even breathe properly, Cindy Gengler introduces and developes characters so real and heart rendering, you will find yourself even liking the villians!
