Summary: Treachery!
Review: Campbell had been ordered to wipe out the MacDonald clan. The Campbell clan went as friends, broke bread, and was offered shelter for the night. During that night, Cambell and his men massacred the MacDonald clan in their sleep. Only a few survived and escaped the slaughter.

Niall MacDonald was chieftain by default. He kidnapped Campbell's two wards, Meg and Elizabeth, intending to ransom them so his clan may have food to survive. This story tells of Niall and Meg. Enemies who learn to see past a name and dare to love. When Niall is captured by Campbell, Meg defies her Campbell clan and seeks the help of the Queen.

***If men in kilts drive you wild, try this one! A very romantic story.***

Summary: Trite and trying.
Review: Did someone say this is "serious literature"? Are we reading the same book? Tedious literature is more like it, with cardboard characters and a formula plot. I had to force myself to finish it just so I could post this review. If you trailed here from Dorothy Dunnett's page, turn back, turn back! 'Tis a deadend.

Summary: This author makes Scotland come alive!
Review: Glencoe brings the honor, traditions and attitudes of the Highlanders to vivid life. Ms. Donald has a rare talent with words; her story touches the heart and gives unusual insight into seventeenth century Scottish life. It's almost as though she were writing from personal memory.

Summary: Surprise Story For Me....
Review: I didn't read the reviews on this book before I bought it, and was surprised that the story took place after the "Massacre". However, I was not in the least disappointed. Yes...it was a quick easy read, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the Highlander's every day life. I loved the characters and think it's a shame that I've not found a Niall MacDonald for myself! I was pleasantly surprised that it was really romance oriented. I wonder why it's not classified as historical romance instead of historical fiction. Either way it was definatley a good read. Enjoy!

Summary: This book made me want to go back to Scotland.
Review: I loved reading Muireall Donald's description of the highland and the detail of the way the people lived. I loved her hero, Niall McDonald. I'm sending a copy of this book to my friend in Scotland, hoping she will love it as much as I did.

Summary: Love vs honor in seventeenth century Scotland
Review: In the late 1600's, two clans embodied the essence of rivalry and revenge. Ancestral enemies Meg Campbell and Niall MacDonald struggle to rewrite their own personal definitions of honor and duty.
