Summary: A Tight Passionate Read!
Review: "A traditional Gothic Romance with a graceful style and genuine emotion."
Sabrina Ayers's family is scorned and laughed at in a small, deceptively picturesque town in California. A gloomy secret of the past, once revealed, became the family's curse. But there are more secrets waiting in the dark...
Sabrina dreams to leave and find a new life for herself, but before she can spread her wings and soar, she has to fight many battles, discover many truths, and cure her broken heart. Broken heart, you ask? There must be a mysterious stranger then? Yes, there is a mysterious stranger, and his name is Richard Tate. And within the walls of the Tate Mansion, the innocence of Sabrina's soul will be lost forever.
EVEN ANGELS FALL demonstrates the strength of the classic form. This story is a mild, nostalgic, PG-13 type of novel. Its characters are well drawn and intriguing, especially Sabrina's moody, mysterious Mother and Richard Tate, who is a fallen angel of sorts himself. Other characters are three-dimensional, lively and interesting, too-Sabrina is likeable enough, sweet and innocent and not without a spine. The story lingers on her life before the main intrigue starts to uncoil, once the plot thickens after a few chapters, EVEN ANGELS FALL is a tight, passionate read.
There are a genuine emotion behind the story, a genuine love for the genre and a graceful style that promises to bloom into finesse. There is a neatly woven web of secrets. There are an innocent beauty and a mysterious stranger. What else one might want from a Gothic novel? This one is an enjoyable reading experience; especially for a quiet evening when a storm is raving outside... the proper atmosphere heightens the pleasure!

Summary: Excellent Novel!
Review: I read "Even Angels Fall" and was extremely impressed with the thick plot and familiar characters. I especially liked the plot being twisted around the Tate Mansion and Sabrina's meetings with Catherine Tate, who was deceased but came back in ghost form as a warning or perhaps premonition into Sabrina's future. Certain scenes reminded me greatly of the late VC. Andrews book, Flowers In The Attic it had the same kind of taste, but without any strong violence. I enjoyed "Even Angels Fall" from beginning to end and recommend it to anyone who likes a story with a twist of romance, mystery, and suspense all wrapped into a gothic story.

Summary: WONDERFUL STORY / TALENTED STORYTELLER
Review: I won't go into the story line here because other reviewers have done that so well already.
I do want to tell you I picked up this book to read within a few hours of finishing East Of Eden and didn't have very high expectation of enjoying any book right after finishing that one. Was I ever wrong! This was the one!
I think women of all ages will love it as much as I did. It's very interesting, unique, and certainly well-written by a very talented story teller. I was interested from beginning to end.
If you like mystery, suspense, and romance, then this one's for you. Don't miss it.
I do look forward to Sherry Mauro's next book.

Summary: Deliciously Suspenseful!
Review: Mohr Reviews by Nancy Jackson

Dripping with romance and haunting atmosphere, this will give you the shivers long after you put the book down. I was immediately drawn into the world of Sabrina Ayers.
The author has a suspenseful, compelling, and enticing voice. Mauro delivers a fantastical plotline, rich with intrigue, power, and vivid detail and description. Her words run smooth with a hint of poetic flair. There is no putting this book down! She offers a romance that is beautifully balanced with light and dark, but it is the dark that will keep you glancing over your shoulder at every little noise or movement!
As the story unfolds, insecurities arise when Richard asks Sabrina to move in and help restore his families' old house, a beautiful mansion complete with a history of ghosts and ample misfortunes to the people who worked there. Along with cobwebs and dust, there are shadows, secrets, and a presence that insists to be revealed. Sabrina realizes there is more to the mansion as Richard's demeanor changes and she learns things that may forever change them. Is their meeting fate or will it ultimately be her fate?
I loved the powerful imagery here, the words literally poured from the pages, colored in texture and style. The feelings were realistic, believable, and the dialogue unsurpassable. Characters fed off one another with wit and emotion. We feel compelled to hate certain characters, yet learn to love them in the end, even if we aren't supposed to. Sherry A. Mauro has delivered a brilliant read and I look forward to all her future endeavors. There is more than meets the eye in "Even Angels Fall" and it's a true masterpiece from a talented author who has opened her world to us. I Literally jumped as I read the words, getting lost in the sights and sounds that filled the home of her fiancé's dead mother.
Haunting, spooky, and deliciously suspenseful!

Summary: A Good Read
Review: The kids at school hated Sabrina, called her inbred and impure. She didn't know why, until the taunts at last sent her home in tears. When her mother saw how upset she was, she told her about a fallen angel, ancestor named Charlotte Devour.
The mother, Tricia Ayers is tiny, blonde, and beautiful, and her husband Jack has to work hard to keep up with her spending. She finds fault with everything around her, unlike Sabrina an angel, who sees only beauty. Her devoted father takes her to museums and art galleries while her mother shops. Sabrina dreams of going to college, then becoming a journalist, but without a scholarship she will never be able to go. In her teens, she becomes quite beautiful, and her classmates are jealous. Even moving to a more upscale neighborhood doesn't help.
Sabrina is a Devour.
Then she meets Richard Tate who treats her like a queen, and before long, Sabrina is falling for him. When she finally graduates from high school, Richard asks her to take over the renovation off his mansion. He has hired an expert in restoration, plus landscapers, contractors, everything he will need to restore the mansion to its former glory. The architect in charge of the restoration tells Sabrina about the house's dark history. At first, Sabrina believes this is pure foolishness, but as she spends more time there, she begins to believe. Terrible things have happened in this house in the past, and terrible things are beginning to happen now.
EVEN ANGELS FALL is a coming-of-age story, and a good one. It begins slowly, and builds to a powerful climax. Sabrina is well developed as a character, as are her parents. Richard I had trouble getting to know, but he did make things interesting, and the house has a personality of its own. I recommend it to readers who like romance mixed with the paranormal.

Summary: Highly recommended!
Review: The review staff of "A Romance Review" is pleased to announce that Even Angels Fall has received its highest rating - Five Roses!

Being a teenager is difficult enough without having a family scandal. The beautiful sixteen year-old Sabrina struggles to maintain her individuality, but the `townies' make it nearly impossible. Ridiculed and taunted on a daily basis, Sabrina needs some sort of explanation as to why she is being hated for no reason. She knows there is a family secret. Her uncertainty is in the details.
Upon first meeting Richard Tate, Sabrina felt an instant attraction. There is a sense of déjà vu she is unable to explain. Richard also feels a sense of knowing Sabrina for a long time. As their relationship continues, Richard asks her to spend her summer helping him restore the home he lived in as a child. It doesn't take long for Sabrina to realize something is terribly wrong.
In the attic of Richard's childhood home Sabrina finds his late mother's diary. It seems there is a mystery surrounding the death of his mother and she is back as a ghost seeking revenge. The mansion is haunted and Sabrina is chosen to find the truth. What will learning the truth do to her relationship with Richard? Will she survive the quest? Does she really have a choice?
Author Sherry Mauro has created an eerie tale of obsession, revenge, and romance. The dark tale of beautiful Sabrina is enthralling. Readers everywhere will be unable to stop until the last word has been read. The writing style of Ms. Mauro is expressive, clever, and compelling. Though reminiscent of V.C. Andrews, Mauro has an enchanting quality that is all her own. Even Angels Fall is highly recommended by this reviewer. If you like spooky reads with well-drawn characters and a fascinating plot, then this is the book for you!
Even Angels Fall is the first book in the Devour family trilogy.

Summary: a very good first effort
Review: This is a fine, creepy, suspenseful debut novel. Very much reminds me of the atmosphere of a VC Andrews novel, and that is no small compliment. Sherry Mauro is also very talented at weaving a plot, and you always want to know how the story will keep developing and end. Sabrina is "different" and captivating, I enjoyed spending time with this character. Thumbs up!

Summary: Don't Plan To Put This Book Down!
Review: Very seldom does a story spook me enough to cause me to scream and nearly launch myself off the bed when a gust of wind slams into the side of the house. When "Even Angels Fall" reached the mysteries of the Tate Mansion, that's exactly what happened.

As a child, Sabrina Ayers endured the taunts of her peers, those who hated her because she wasn't a "townie" and because she was a Devour with a dark family history. She listened to her mother and father arguing about money and an unspoken agreement. So it's no surprise she falls for the charming, rich and handsome Richard Tate even though there's something odd about him, especially when he talks about his long-dead mother who left this world by her own hand.

And the Tate Mansion? It's alive with secret sins from the past. She can feel the evil breathing down the back of her neck, feel unseen eyes watching and waiting, hear it moving around her. Those walls have tales to tell and they'll stop at nothing to get Sabrina to listen.

"Even Angels Fall" has passion, innocence and mystery leading up to a shocking climax. Once you reach the Tate Mansion, don't plan on putting this novel down, because you won't be able to.
