Rating: Summary: Good, fun beach read Review: Cassie left her Georgia home 15 years ago when her sister Harriet ran off with Cassie fiance, Joe. Vowing never to return, she is forced to when her father is dying and wishes to see her one last time. On her way into town, she meets Sam, and old high school friend, whom she barely remembers. Sam has grown up from the geeky boy he used to be, into a hunk whose a doctor. Cassie is has to stay in town longer than she plans when her father dies, leaving her the house that has been in her family for generations. She has to battle her personal demons while renewing her relationship with her sister and brother in law and their five children, and well as finding love with Sam, all while remembering what it was like to live in a small town where everyone knows your name. This was a good beach read. A throwaway book that essentially means nothing and changes you in no way, however it's fun to with the characters while you're reading the story. You'll shed some tears, and enjoy some laughs while reading about the struggles this transplanted Southern has, when she is forced to come back home.
Rating: Summary: A beautiful story by a gifted author... Review: Cassie made a clean break of things when she left home years ago. She walked away from her family and started a new life. But circumstances force her to return and Cassie discovers that you can indeed come home again. She rediscovers her family, her town...and finds that the boy-next-door has changed almost as much as she has. A beautiful story of self-discovery and family, Karen White shines in Falling Home.
Rating: Summary: Karen White is a treasure! Review: Cassie Madison had left her home of Walton, Georgia fifteen years earlier and had never looked back. Her heart had been broken by her younger sister Harriet's marriage to Cassie's long time love Joe. So she ran away to New York and made a new life for herself. But she can't refuse her dying father's wish to return home to Walton. Returning to Walton is hard, but also a breath of fresh air. Old wounds have mended but new wounds are preparing to unleash themselves upon her soul. Her father is dying and secrets from his past are coming to light. And a childhood friend named Sam Parker is making her feel things that she had forgotten existed-even though she has a fiance in New York that she thought she was in love with. FALLING HOME is one of those deep novels that I as a reader fall in love with. This is a book I refused to rush through, it was lyrical and beautiful, romantic and tragic. There were moments I laughed aloud, and times I pulled the Kleenex's closer. Cassie is a complex woman dealing with how the memories of her past are effecting her return home. This book should be shared with family and friends and a perfect book for a reader's group. I loved every page and look forward to many more books from Karen White.

Rating: Summary: Falling Home is a Winner! Review: Falling Home is a heartwarming story about family and what matters most in life. Ms. White's writing style holds your interest right up until the last word, leaving you very satified but wanting more. I have read all three of her books and they just keep getting better. Karen White has written a winner! I couldn't put this book down.
Rating: Summary: A marvelous tale of two sisters Review: Falling Home is a wonderful story of one woman's unexpected journey home, and the surprising truths she finds there. Karen White brings tiny Walton, Georgia to life and peoples it with characters we can laugh with and cry over. I loved this book!
Rating: Summary: Treat yourself to an emotional rollercoaster Review: FALLING HOME is an engrossing and emotional ride loaded with complex characters and heart-tugging plot layers. Ms. White's refreshing humor and clever detail transports the reader to small-town Georgia, where you can almost smell the Magnolia trees and taste the homemade peach ice cream. Successful career-woman Cassie Madison returns to her childhood home for the first time in 15 years at the request of her dying father. She must face her sister, who ran off with (and married) Cassie's college sweetheart, and she's doomed to humiliate herself in front of Sam Parker, the nerd-turned-hunky doctor. As Cassie struggles to climb the self-protective walls she's created and learns to let go of past heartbreak, she finds where she truly belongs. Keep the tissues handy. Put everything else on hold and treat yourself to a great book. Once you start reading, you won't stop until the end.
Rating: Summary: enjoyable contemporary tearjerker Review: Fifteen years ago, Cassie Madison was engaged to Joe Warner, but he eloped with her sister Harriet. Cassie fled the red clay of Georgia for the cement of Manhattan, vowing to never return. Over the years, Joe and Harriet have had five children with each new birth ripping into Cassie's guts. Harriet calls Cassie to tell her that their father is dying and wants to see her. Only for daddy would Cassie comes home. She leaves her fiancé, who insists he must take care of their business, and drives to Walton. She arrives in time to say her good-byes to her beloved daddy. Wanting his daughter to live in Georgia, her father leaves the family home to Cassie. Locally Dr. Sam Parker wants Cassie to stay, as he has loved her for a long time. However, she engaged back in New York and Sam knows he can never have her as long as she refuses to let go of the past and accept that Joe and Harriet belonged together just like he and Cassie do. Fans of southern relationship dramas will relish FALLING HOME. The story line is at its best when Cassie still reeling from betrayal falls in love with good neighbor Sam and her nieces and nephews. The tale goes into hyper soap opera land with a subplot involving Harriet's health. Readers who enjoy a novel that invokes a Chatahoochie River worth of tears (not at drought level) will want to read Karen White's contemporary tearjerker. Harriet Klausner

Rating: Summary: If You Haven't Already - You Need To! Review: First Karen White I've read! I LOVED IT! So down to earth. Karen has a way to make you fall in love with her characters. Cassie, small town girl, left the town she grew up in. She had to return 15 years later to deal with family issues & boy, do they turn into issues! Excellent read! Don't forget "After the Rain"...Joe's continued story.
