Rating: Summary: A Sweet Romance Review: "Love Song" was a sweet romance. I like country/western Christian romances, and there aren't very many, so I'm always happy to find a new one.
I thouroughly enjoyed the love story between Andi and Wade, and I enjoyed hearing about the life of a country singer. I found the characters very believable, the plot line realistic. I liked the set up for the next book, and now I can't wait to read "Antiques" to hear more about Dawn!
I would definitely reccommend "Heartland Skies" by Melody Carlson for other readers who enjoy "cowboy" Christian romances.
Rating: Summary: Excellent ! Christian historic romance at its best! Review: I had been reading historic romance fiction and wanted to find a Chrisitan author. Finding Sharon Gillenwater's , Song of the highlands, was the answer. The historic references and story line kept me spellbound through out. I long for a continuation of this story and now plan to read her other books! Sharon thank you for writing romance in such a tasteful way!
Rating: Summary: Song of the Highlands Review: I loved this book. Sharon Gillenwater makes the characters alive. You really feel like you know each one. For once there's a romance that is clean. A 14 year old could read it without guilt, but that doesn't mean that it lacks romantic parts. Plus it's not all mushy huggy kissy. There's adventure! Plenty of it, just when you think everyone's safe and the story can wind down something else happens and You're living on the edge again. You can't put this book down until you finish (even then you have a hard time). I'm adicted, I can't wait to read more of Ms. Gillenwater's books.
Rating: Summary: Excelent, emotionally stimulating, one to read again Review: Sharon Gillenwater has done a wonderful job potraying emotion and feeling through her characters. She makes the story come alive as few can do, making the second reading just as enjoyable as the first. The story conveys Christian vallues, with real life situations that show even the Godly experiance difficult times. Love Song is definitely the book to buy if you enjoy cowboys, romance, christianity and western music
Rating: Summary: This is a wonderful love story Review: Sharon Gillenwater has written a wonderful, believable story about love and the power of the Lord to work in people's lives. Her setting in England and Scotland makes a vivid image and exciting story. Her research skills are obvious in the details that she includes. Anyone who is disappointed by this romance is likely used to typical romances. Those published by Palisades have a deeper story line to include the power of the Lord and how a relationship with Jesus Christ is essential to salvation. This is natural in the the story based on the characters that Gillenwater has created. I believe this element adds to the characters and the story, not detracts from it. Thank you Mrs. Gillenwater for an excellent book!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: Song of the Highlands is a spectacular book filled with adventure, romance, and suspense. I have read books of all kinds and I must say this is one that I come back to time and time again. Ms. Gillenwater develops the characters in such a way that you feel like they are your good friends. You care about what happens to each and every one of them. Unlike secular romance, Song of the Highlands enforces good morals; but unlike many other Christian novels, the relationships are not dry and boring. The characters are Christian without being unrealistically good. They struggle with right and wrong just as each of us do. The book is well written so you can follow it easily and you don't get characters mixed up. I highly recommend it for anyone and everyone looking for a great read. (don't forget to read Highland Call after you finish Song of the Highlands... I recommend you buy both becaused you're going to want to keep up with your new "friends")
Rating: Summary: One of my all-time favorites Review: There are only a very few select books that I have read more than once. I would consider this book among one of my all-time favorites. I have read it through about 5 times, and will surely do so again...at least once every year I read it. I don't know...there is just something about this book that I am completely in love with. I would...and have...recommended it to many people.
Rating: Summary: Captivating! Review: This book is one of the best Palisades that I have read (and believe me, I've read quite a few). The story caught me right from the beginning and held me until the very end. The story line was fascinating, and the characters were well fleshed out. The book came to a wonderful ending, and I instantly borrowed the sequel, Antiques, from my friends to see what happened next with Andi and Wade.
