Summary: A Keeper..to read again and again!
Review: Every year I have to deal with the dreaded 'spring cleaning', which includes my romance and suspense novel collection. It isn't a bad thing, mind you, going through all my hundreds of books, getting rid of the ones I know I won't read again. I swear, every year I come to this book, not remembering the plot, the characters, etc (Please understand that I don't mean this in a bad way..I just read sooo many books I can never keep track of them all). AND every year I am absolutely surprised, delighted and thoroughly satisfied when I read Heart of The Storm! The story captures your attention right in the beginning, and really gets going after Captain Dare kidnaps the heroine Eliza and her young cousin. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys a sexy, romantic love story. P.S. I would love to read more about the adult Aubrey!

Summary: Great !!!!!!
Review: I loved this book!!! I thought that Cyprian and Eliza were soo good together. Something about RB, she makes her characters so likeable and you feel like you are right there with them. She also gives them such realistic characteristics, feelings that I myself have had from one time to another!! This book is a keeper and anyone who reads it will not be sorry!!

Summary: ALL HER BOOKS ARE GREAT!!
Review: I really enjoy all of her books and have read all but 1 so far. This was as different location and type of story but with a good love interest. I read a synopsis in the back of the book about a book "A Kiss In The Storm" to be published in 1996. The publisher wasn't any help and I would like to know if any reader has discovered if it was published under a different name. It is about Adam Slater and Daphne Melerine a "mistress" of an older man who has passed away. They meet at the solicitor's office at the reading of the will. PLEASE HELP!! I would hate to miss any of her wonderful books.

Summary: A definite keeper!
Review: I really enjoyed this book. The hero, Cyprian Dare, kidnaps Eliza and her cousin Aubrey, who happens to be his half-brother. Their father deserted Cyprian's mother years ago and now Cyprian wants revenge. The hero decides he wants Eliza for as long as he's holding her captive and Eliza (who suffers from timidity and asthma) finds herself becoming physically stronger and not-so-timid because of this experience, wants him, too. The love scenes between them are explosive and erotic as Cyprian teaches Eliza the passionate side of her nature. Cyprian tries to hide his growing love Eliza by using sex and he even asks her to stay with him indefinitely. I like the way the author got Eliza to let Cyprian release her, even though he wanted her to stay. I also like the way they work through his issues of trust and feelings of betrayal with her family. I like the way the author showed how the father's actions affected Cyprian, and even Aubrey, and how one should take care of their responsibilities and treat others the way they'd want to be treated. I'd read it again.

Summary: I disagree with the other reviews
Review: I thought this book was bad! So amazingly rediculous. Both the main characters had such bad tempers. They flew into a rage in every single scene. I didn't like either one of them. And the poor, crippled cousin was such a brat I felt no sympathy at all. The parents were nasty or pathetic.

I finish reading every book I ever start -- it's a thing with me. This is the first book in years that I considered just throwing away and not finishing. I kept wishing it was over -- that tells you how much I disliked it!

Summary: A Let Down.
Review: Pirate books are always an adventure. Out there on the high seas, our lovers cornered in a world of sun, sea, and storm clouds. Yes, pirate fantasies are usually irresistible, captivating, and often humorous.

With Rexanne Becnel at the helm, this book opened as a seductive escapade. The author cast the charming Eliza Thoroughgood as her heroine. And for her hero, Becnel developed Captain Cyprian Dare into a tall, dark, handsome, turbulent man. A pirate, a smuggler, a sultry lover, and a man bent on punishing the nobleman who fathered him. The romance plot -- Eliza Thoroughgood happened to get in the way of Cyprian's revenge. Yes, a promising story, but did it live up to its promise? No.

Rexanne Becnel lures the reader into a wonderful story. The seduction scenes are slow and beautifully drawn. The sensual sea voyage is amusing and rewarding, but slowly the story begins to slip. Nothing the reader can put their finger on, it just begins to slip away. As a reader, you wonder "What happened?" Then on page 253 a revelation unfolds. This sentence, found halfway down the page, reveals all.

--- "(Cyprian) . . . snatched up a jagged bit of rock, and flung it with all his strength at them. At Eliza." ---

Whoa, sadly, the reader realizes our robust hero is nothing but an overgrown child - a child who takes every ounce of Eliza's strength to nurture.

Finally, she grows tired of being sensible, and she returns home to her family. Of course, what is romance without the hero going after her? However, Cyprian's reappearance is excruciating. Eliza's family discovers them in "a love nest" and no male relative puts up any confrontation! That's right! Instead, the unmarried Eliza invites everyone for dinner, to which the author treats all to a huge family squabble. In the end, our couple is still unwed, Cyprian is still a smuggler, his father is still a jerk, and Eliza's parents are still a classy couple. Scold, scold, an enormous reading let down.
