Summary: Love is timeless...
Review: ...and if you've forgotten that, perhaps you should pick up a good historical romance - like Forgotten Lore, by Carly Corday. Not only is this a fine romance, but it's HOT, too!

An Egyptian marauder, Namhotek, has come to the Celtic Isles (the Isles of Mist) as part of an army whose mission is to pillage and plunder. While surveying a village ...

What sets this book apart from your average historical romance is the erotic element. Make no mistake, the sex in this book is hot without limit. It's not only fueled by the passion between the two main characters, but by the author's imagination, weaving in elements of bondage and sexual prowess that makes each sexual encounter stand out. Unlike some stories which toss in sex as a bonus, the scenes in this book are an integral part of the book, filled with intrigue.

Forgotten Lore is a fine effort from an author obviously experienced in building sexual tension and keeping it aflame. It's a book you won't forget...

Summary: A decision is made to appease the gods...
Review: Forgotten Lore is an alluring and spirited tale that flawlessly combines erotic elements with history. Analeita is a unique character and it was great to see her layers unfold as the book progressed. The historical setting enchanted me; I cannot recall ever seeing a historical novel or romance that covered the Druids and Egyptians in this way. While the sexual situations and language may be a little much for readers who enjoy more mild fare, the uniqueness of this book makes it worth a try.

Review: Forgotten Lore was just an irresistible book title when I spotted it, but day-um!!! What a luuuuuv story! I read another one by this author right after I read this one and I'm still trying to recover from the steamy parts that dominate these fully plotted books. Even without a single kiss, I'd be on the edge of my fainting-couch. What I liked best: it was the suspense of two beautiful lovers who are bound to get caught! I died. It was glorious, beginning to end! The political incorrectness was, umm, Hardcore. Nice break from sitcoms, the evening news, and the standard store-bought romance. This is what I want when I buy romance novels, and don't get. I think it's that erotica is what we really want but the guys who produce books are scared to do it.

Summary: Did Poe pore over this?
Review: I don't think so!! I did, though, on a friend's computer-gizmo at work, then to be fair I ordered my own and downloaded the reader. If I really liked romance I would give this book more stars because it is well done, a highly readable story, exciting even without the sex-sex-sex. My college-age daughters will love it. Something to do on the PC when they come home. I'll just pretend I didn't realize what it was.

Summary: SEXY!!
Review: I love romance, I love pop archaeology. In this ebook romance I got both, plus the sex was hotter than anything I had ever read before. I also got a Great Love story I'll never forget. The tension drove me nuts!! It's a woman's "erotic novel", no doubt about that. Anything else from this author, please bring it on! I'll be looking. And by the way, Forgotten Lore IS COMPATIBLE with handheld devices. I don't know why the ad states it is not compatible. I read my copy in bed. ;)

Summary: Loved it
Review: I really enjoyed this story, mainly because it DID have a plot. A lot of erotica doesn't make sense when you read it, but this one does. This book kept me on edge until the end because I kept wondering what was going to happen. ... It was very worth the read to me.

Summary: Antediluvian Egypt collides with pre-historic Britannia
Review: Long before the pyramids, before the mystic Celts of yore, even before the Great Flood...there lived a virgin priestess of such beauty that her industrious, fair-skinned tribe, beset with recent misfortunes, chose her as their greatest sacrifice to Sai, the golden ram god they worshipped.

There also lived a wiley chieftain's son, a vain prince called Nordin, who drove this precious virgin into the Temple of Sai when she was too young to see through his selfish ploy. Nordin must marry a woman of his parents' choosing despite his desire for the beauteous Analeita. He will obey, and in the interim no other man must ever possess the girl he spurned in his youth. The temple is the place for Analeita.

Along with slavery, humiliation, exhibitionism, bondage, and pain, it is Nordin's evil that gives this touching, often delightful, erotic love story its darker flavor. It is a SUBTLE if pervasive flavor. Not for the true dillitante, this particular flavor will best tantalize the unwary...

Now Analeita finds herself Chosen to die, to wed the ram god, untouched by mortal men. Nordin throws himself into celebration, assured that she'll be out of all men's reach and not only that, but in a small cruel way, he will finally "have" her. Every autumn the tribe makes its sacrifice to Sai, but lately Sai seems unsatisfied with just a stallion given on his altar, and jealous of the young men chosen during each autumn revel to ravish a lovely, hapless priestess chosen from his temple.

In these lost pre-dawn times, there lives a dark handsome soldier from a superior culture along the distant Nyle, called Namhotek. He is ambitious, treacherous, adventurous, imaginative, young, a marauder and a mercenary but, in the end, a would-be stoic gone tragically foolhardy.

I loved Namhotek, ached for him, with a passion that just grew.

On foray with an invading army in the Isles of Mist, Namhotek takes an unusual prize. Not a prize he can keep, however. She belongs, like all booty, to the king. She will elevate him from common soldier to "Lord Namhotek", man of wealth and influence, along with his descendants. He'll be worthy of the anxious noblewoman who awaits him in Egypt.

His fortunes all but assured, Namhotek has just one dilemma. To keep a virgin intact, through thick and thin, assuring her worth to a king. And what a dilemma that is when this blonde creature, this flawless erotic oddity he has captured, falls in love with him.

This is new fare - "erotic romance" - but it works in this intance with glorious love, raging lusts and unbearable tension to spare. There's a captivating Egyptian Queen, a despicable Breton villainess, a vivid population throughout that readers will thrill to. Characterizations runs exceptionally high.

Recommended escapist reading, with the obvious warning: Don't do it if you like your romance soft. Forgotten Lore is incomparably soft in its own right, but do wear asbestos gloves.
