Summary: Good enough story and writing to hold my interest.
Review: I enjoyed the characters, and wanted to see where the author was going to take them. Even given a few slower spots in the story, places where Hylton seemed to drag out things just a bit too long, I mostly felt that the story moved forward well. Not every character moved forward, and at least one or two actually seemed to move backward. But real life can be like that for people.

Summary: A good relatioship drama
Review: Librarian Mary Styles has no social life outside her job and her family. Dating, for instance, is impossible as the shy Mary takes care of her mother. However, her doldrums end when she meets businessman Gerald Ralston, who invites her to spend a weekend with him at The Lakes, an elite resort. To her own surprise, Mary accepts the invitation because she thinks she may be in love with Gerald.

However, at the fancy hotel, Gerald acts radically different from the person who treated the librarian with respect. However, all is not lost as Mary meets Andrew Alveston, who carries baggage from the death of his first wife under mysterious circumstances over a decade ago. From no beaus, Mary has two suitors, but both have major flaws.

EASTER AT THE LAKES is a fabulous romance that is sure to gain much critical acclaim for stupendous storyteller Sara Hylton. Though the story line centers on Mary and her various relationships, several subplots add depth that makes the characters and the tale seem genuine. Anyone who enjoys a rousing rich relationship drama needs to try Ms. Hylton's novels like this one and her others such as FOOTSTEPS IN THE RAIN, THE SUNFLOWER GIRL, and MELISSA.

Summary: This book is not vintage Sara Hylton
Review: This book is not vintage Sara Hylton. I have read most of her books and have enjoyed each one more than the previous one. I saw this new book advertised before it was released and was hounding my local library to purchase it . I was so looking forward to reading it and was sorely disappointed. If I wanted to read a book of gossip I could have picked up my local newspaper and read the gossip column. The major characters were very well defined but the book was exceedingly slow and extremely boring. I kept waiting for Hylton's usual "mystery" theme and it never presented itself. The underlying theme of the best things happen to those who are patient and wait was very evident in Mary Styles, but it would seem to me Hylton could developed the love story in her usual style. All I could think of reading this book is "I think I must be reading a Maeve Binchy novel". Nonetheless, I will look forward to her next book and hope to find her usual style of writing.

Summary: Fun, Uncomplicated, Wonderful Ending
Review: This was the first book I have ever read by Sara Hylton but it quickly drew in my imagination. The story was interesting with some quick twists and turns that really kept me interested. I have already gone to the library and checked out "Melissa" by Sara which I have read in one sitting. It was also a wonderful book. I look forward to many more books by this author which will show her wonderful writing style. I also suggest this author to anyone who enjoys a good story with some imagination.
