Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is an excellent story, true to it's period
Review: Patricia Bray has captured the essence of the period for which she has written with incredible accuracy in her details of the time. I really enjoyed the book and recommend it to everyone.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Murder and Mayhem in Regency England are lots of fun
Review: This book is even better than her first one. The secondary characters are brilliantly realized and Ms. Bray's gift for unique images that highlight the absurdities of the period is in full force (what party would be complete without a gypsy wagon and bonfire in the center of the forest that used to be a ball room?). But she never loses the human element at the heart of this romance, so we fully sympathize with the hero as, unable to admit to his feelings for Magda, he instead throws himself into solving all of her problems -- even unresolved murders from her childhood. In fact, it is the resonance between the mystery elements and romance elements that give this book its depth and structure. When he believes he has solved all of her problems, and turns out to be wrong, it echoes his belief that they can have no possible future together which, this being a romance, is obviously also wrong.

The twists and turns of the plot make for a highly entertaining read, and t! he wonderfully drawn characters make for memorable (and amusing) scenery along the way. If you like mysteries, Regencies, or just fun reads, this is for you.
