Summary: Really 4.5. Cresswell is very good, as usual.
Review: I have now read two Cresswell books, this and Colorado Confidential, and I will definitely read her again. She is becoming one of my reliable authors, even though I have never really read any other romance novels, and am not sure I want to. Cresswell is really more romantic suspense, and I doubt that other romance novels are like hers. I didn't give this one five stars because it seemed to take the plot too long to move forward, and it seemed to underachieve a bit, compared to what it might have been. Also, it seemed very woman-centered, with no real description of Mcleod--his looks, etc. (maybe that was intentional). Cresswell does her job so well, however--hooks you right from the first line and never lets you go--that, as a man, I forgive things in her books--the woman-centered view, for example, that would annoy the heck out of me in other writers. I tried to read a woman author after Cresswell, and the way she described one of the female characters--how she jogged everyday, and all this kind of, oh, isn't she an angel type of stuff, made me put the book down in disgust--as if men don't jog (we are much more athletic than women, and women need to get back to appreciating that fact instead of trickily trying to fight it). But I haven't done that with Creswell--not yet.

Review: Jasmine Cresswell comes through again. I've lost track of all the books I've read from her and once again she doesn't disappoint. This book grabs you from the start and doesn't let you go. The fact that the story is so believable is what also makes this book so great. Definitely pick it up, you won't be disappointed.

Summary: A real tear jerker, emotionally moving
Review: The Colorado Springs community recognize Maggie Slade as a troubled teen, who, since her father tragically died, is into drugs and alcohol. In public, Maggie is constantly arguing with her mother, especially when the older Slade started up an affair with someone who wants his identity to remain a secret. However, when her mother is murdered, Maggie is convicted of the crime and sent to jail. Seven years into her sentencing, Maggie escapes into the underground world of those on the lam. Review: This really should be a 4 1/2. It was a very good book. I especially enjoyed it since I live in the Columbus area. The only reason I didn't give it a five was because I'd figured out the killer as soon as they appeared in the book. I'm on to my next Cresswell book!
