Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Another winner! Can't wait for something new!
Review: For those of us intelligent enough to not be bogged down by intricate plots and subplots, this novel is a refreshing change from the usual schlock that's turned out in the genre of suspence. Ms. Beauman's abilty to create good characters and plot is what puts her on top of the heap. A great novel - enjoy!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Beauman has written better
Review: London-based fashion reporter Lindsay Drummond is burned out with her current job and lifestyle. She is even more tired of waiting for the man she loves, Rowland McGuire, to return her deep feelings. So when her son goes off to college and hedonistic Colin Lascelles enters her life, Lindsay decides to go for the gusto and enjoy life with the man.

In New York, someone is stalking film director Tomas Court, his ex-wife actress Natasha Lawrence, and their young son. Through Colin's Manhattan connections, Lindsay and ultimately Rowland become locked in Natasha's struggle to win a cat and mouse game with an unknown foe. The stakes are her abducted child.

The sequel to the brilliant DANGER ZONES brings back some fan favorites, who remain delightful characters. However, this time around Sally Beauman has so much going, the novel becomes confusing without a road map. This is too bad because DECEPTION AND DESIRE has a great prime story line, but the sub-plots weigh that down. Still, fans of romantic intrigue will enjoy this cross Atlantic tale.

Summary: Not her best.
Review: This book is a real disappointment from her previous works which I truly enjoyed. The story jumps all over the place with the author bringing in different story lines and boring characters that go nowhere. I think she tried to write a book using everyone she ever included in her other books. What was the point of this? At the end I could care less who was stalking who.
