Summary: A Beautiful Sequel
Review: I am a big fan of Wilde, and having read three of this author's books prior to "Love Me, Marietta" I feel that I have formulated a good, solid basis for my opinion. "Love's Tender Fury" was a masterpiece; Marietta absolutely came alive. Wilde carried her vibrant personality over very well into "Love Me, Marietta." The situations she finds herself in are horrific, extremely well drawn out, bringing the passion and terror alive in every chapter, every word. Marietta's determination is beautiful, but not unrealistic, as we see her flaws and weaknesses throughout the book in her personal conflict with her love for Jeremy and her need for Derek. There are some very heart-wrenching scenes, especially during Jeremy's illness late into the book. I would recommend it to anyone whole-heartedly. I did, however, find myself a little disappointed with the ending. It seemed a bit too hasty of a conclusion after such an elongated search for her love, and I felt that Marietta did not properly recognize her true self and true feelings in the conclusion. I've discovered there is a third book to this series and fully intend to read it, hoping it will wrap up the loose ends and hopefully bring back our beloved Adam and Cassie from "Love's Tender Fury." Overall, the book is very well written and everything one could hope for: suspense, romance, tragedy. Beautiful.

Summary: wonderfully written
Review: Marietta is happy with Derek, and is going to marry him when they arrive to Hawkhouse in England. So she doesn't give in the the persistance of Jeremy Bond.
While leaving to get on the boat for England, Marietta and Derek are attacked by the two men that have been watching them for weeks. Derek is shot and killed, and Marietta is sold to pirates.
Her spirit still intact, Marietta catches the attention of the ruthless "Red Nick", the leader of the pirates. He demands that she become his mistress. No where to go, no way to leave, she has no choice.
In a desperate attempt for her to leave the pirate island with her friends Em and Corrie, Red Nick catches her, and she is immediately put on close watch.
Marietta's spirit is breaking. She has no way to leave. Will she ever recieve help? Or will she, for the rest of her life, have to live with the pain and torment of the pirate island?
Meanwhile Jeremy Bond has not forgotten his beloved Marietta. Convinced that his love for her is true, he continues to search high and low for her wherabouts.
This book was so good. It was amazing how strong Marietta stayed when she was in all these life threatening situations. I fell in Love with Jeremy and found that he was the perfect make for Marietta, and he was willing to risk his life to save her. This was a truely wonderful read!

Summary: A Jolly Good Read
Review: This is the sequel to love's tender fury. And I must say it's the most entertaining book I've read in years. The story of Marietta Danver who is engaged to Derek Hawk, but is kidnapped and becomes the unwilling mistress of a pirate king.
