Summary: Excellent Fast Paced Time Travel
Review: England 1999 - best friends, Olivia Lindsley and Alison O'Neill don 16th century costumes and enter a maze to meet others in their tour group would be playing parts in an Elizabethan revel! Who would have guessed that when they came out of the maze they would be taking part in history - namely England 1586!

Upon exiting, there stood Geoffrey Talcott, amateur scientist and younger brother to Lord Nicholas Talcott. Well, that is he stood for a second until he fainted dead away at the sight of the two women he immediately recognized as coming from someplace other than his century! Regaining consciousness, his first thought was he had to hide these two from his brother Nicholas and their royal guest, Queen Elizabeth but that didn't happen and with some quick thinking on Olivia's part, a plausible story was made up until they could figure a way out of this mess and Geoffrey figure out how to get them back to their own time.

There were so many delightful and exciting twists and turns to this time travel that used actual famous historical people in the plot. Both Olivia and Alison were wonderfully portrayed - Olivia fitting in quite naturally as she had assisted her father in Elizabethan historical studies, and Alison her very best friend and clearly a 20th century gal, not enjoying roughing it in 16th century England! Both would fall prey to the charming Talcott brothers, and heartbreak seemed to be in store for both should they ever find their way back. With the politically dangerous climate and old enemies exacting plots for revenge the bigger question was would they survive long enough to make it back or would their prescence upset and change forever the future, as they knew it. This was a very fast-paced time travel story, lots of intrigue, history, and sprinkled with a little humor and lot of heart.

Summary: This was a Romance?
Review: I did something I've never done before I didn't finish the book. I skimmed it and never found any romance in it. I'm not sure what the other reviewers found but it wan't in my copy. I disliked the main hero and would have liked to have read more about the secondary hero although he did sound wimpish. the two heroines were ok but nothing special. I got bored with this almost from the first. I would not recommend this at all.

Summary: Tremendously Enjoyable
Review: I loved this book. It was a great combination of romance and history. The author really did her homework in connection with the time period... and I learned a lot along the way. I enjoyed the contrast between the two women and the way their relationships evolved. One of them had a more "modern" sensibility, and the other seemed to feel very comfortable in the past.

What fun! Do pick it up.

I've read other books by Anne Kelleher, and she continues to get better all the time.

Summary: Tremendously Enjoyable
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed Anne Kelleher's latest novel. I read many historical romances and honestly feel that Ms. Kelleher has a better grasp of the history and language of the historical periods about which she writes than the other "power house" authors of historical romance. This new novel is no exception, as she takes the reader seamlessly from 1999 to 1587. The characters are real and believable and she does a superb job of sketching 16th century England for the reader. You can honestly see the countryside and hear (and smell!) London, Dover, Calais, etc. If you enjoy this book, I highly recommend her previous work "My Once and Future Love" and "The Ghost and Katie Coyle". She ahs also written a sci-fi/fantasy series that begin with "Daught of Prophecy". Enjoy! I'm already anticipating her next novel!

Summary: Exciting time travel
Review: In 1587, Master Christopher Warren tells Sir John Makepiece that he knows that the latter covets the land of his neighbor Lord Nicholas Talcott. Christopher provides John the opportunity to prove that Nicholas remains a Papist just like his father was and in turn gains the land. Christopher detests the Talcott family for what they did to his father.

In 1999, Olivia Lindsley is obsessed with finishing her beloved but deceased father's work on proving that Lady Olivia Talcott is Shakespeare's Dark Lady. To do so, Olivia, accompanied by Alison O'Neil, has traveled to the Talcott estate. The two friends enter a maze during an eclipse. When they exit, Alison and Olivia meet Queen Elizabeth I, as it is now 1587. As a plot to destroy Nicholas begins, he falls in love with Olivia while his brother falls in love with Alison, but his enemies now have the perfect scenario to hang him: time traveling witches.

LOVE'S LABYRINTH is an enchanting time travel romance that will please sub-genre fans due to the strong characterizations. The story line moves quickly as real persona from the late sixteenth century adds authenticity to the story line while propelling the plot forward. Though Olivia and Nicholas are a fine couple, Alison's struggle to adapt makes readers understand displacement. As with A ONCE AND FUTURE KING, Anne Kelleher provides an enticing tale that will enchant her audience.

Summary: NICE TIME TRAVEL!
Review: Just to make myself clear, 3 stars means that this is a nice book. Not a great book, but not a dud either. I enjoyed Olivia and Alyson. Also thought Geoffrey was a cutie. Nicholas, however, seemed to have trouble deciding what his personality was going to be from day to day. He was a cold, arrogant oaf who eventually degenerated into a needy puddle of mush. The ending is very well done, working out just right. I will look into other books by this author.
