Summary: Letting Go Of Our Prejudices
Review: After a night of partying and ruining her parent's house, Shayla's father, Dr. Eric Crawford, arranges for her to take a position in rural Mississippi to help a struggling and aging medical center. Shayla feels that her father wants to punish her, but Eric wants his daughter to grow up and take responsibility for her actions.When Shayla arrives in Alberta, Mississippi she is greeted by Dr. Jake Parker and his staff of the medical center that she has been relegated to. To her dismay, Alberta is rural and full of poor people. To Jake's dismay, Shayla is a rich snob who will not last in Alberta. Doctor, Doctor is a typical romance where boy meets girl and you wonder whether or not they can weather the storm. But this one is hilarious as we watch Shayla navigate the rural community of Alberta with the determination of a tyrant. Jake is equally enchanting as we watch him resist all offers of assistance to save his medical facility. Included in this delightful tale are political shenanigans that Jake cannot control. Equally appealing are Shayla's extended family members who too have the same determination as Shayla. Summary: The Cure Is Love
Review: Dr. Shayla Crawford is young, beautiful and rich. She feels that she is entitled to do as she pleases in life, and has no regard for what the consequences of her reckless behavior might be. She parties and spends money as if both are going out of style. Shayla's father, Dr. Eric Crawford, loves his daughter with all of his heart, but he wants her to grow up and become a responsible woman so that she can survive in the real world. He feels that by sending her to a struggling clinic in Alberta, Mississpi that she will see that there is pain and suffering in the world. Dr. Jake Parker is the director of the Alberta Medical Center, the clinic that Shayla's father has banished her to. Dr Parker is a hard working man who grew up poor. He has a wealth of disdain for those that he considers the idle rich. He is consumed by the center and keeping it up and running. So when Shayla walks in he is completely taken aback. He is annoyed and enchanted with her at the same time. When Shayla meets Jake she is instantly drawn to him, but she does not understand why he does not like her. Unfortunately for Shayla, Jake is not her only problem. His sister Pearline is determined to make life difficult for Shayla, she dislikes rich people and will try very hard to drive Shayla away from Alberta and Jake. Carmen Green's Doctor, Doctor is a great and unique story. Watching Jake let go of his fears and prejudices is great to observe, and seeing Shayla evolve into the woman she knew that she could always be is fascinating. Carmen has done a great job and I look forward to reading her next literary contribution later this year. -- Reviewed by Simone A. Hawks

Summary: Pretty Good Book
Review: I can say that I have read better books but this book was good it was pretty funny I enjoyed the story line but I think that too much emphasis was put on why Jake couldnt be with her I think the self pity role was played a bit too much.....I enjoyed Shaylas character I enjoyed watching her grow up and become her own woman and most definitely finding love in the most unlikely of all palces....... all in all I enjoyed the book I will definitely make it my business to read more of her novels..................

Review: In this book Ms Green delved into the lives of both main characters; however, it was not so much that it told everything at once. She was able to portray the lives of both characters as lovable, dedicated and tenacious doctors and I truly believe that's what made me read it in 5 hours. The only downside is that I wish she had developed the male character a little more. With this being the first book that I have read from the author, I cannot wait to read more by Ms Green.

Shayla is resentful at first, but finds the small town of Alberta Mississippi and its people a wonderful place to be. Shayla meets the handsome doctor that runs the run down clinic Jake Parker attractive. He thinks she's gorgeous, but they couldn't work because he was poor. The attraction remained and finally neither could over look it. The Crawford family has been one I've followed over the years. Shayla is introduced in Silken Love the story of her biological father Eric Crawford and her adoptive mother Lauren Michaels. I was interested to see what Shayla would be like as an adult. She was spoiled as a kid and I suspected she would be spoiled even worse as an adult. Carmen did a good job at rounded Shayla into a respectable, reliable doctor. She was still spoiled but learned some important lessons about life, responsibility and love. Carmen Green is definitely one of my favorite writers. She can tell a great story,make you laugh and cry. My favorite Carmen novels are: NOW OR NEVER, COMMITMENTS, SILKEN LOVE. If you have not read Silken Love, please read it before you read Doctor, Doctor. It will give you insight on Shayla's character.

Review: The sequel to "Silken Love" picks up some 15 years later as Shayla Crawford has completed medical school and is ready to join her fathers' pratice. Shayla is a rich, spoiled, self-centered 25 year old party girl, who thinks the world is her oyster. Dr. Eric Crawford loves his daughter, but feels she needs to grow up and learn responsibility. To teach her these lessons rather than offer her a place in the family pratice, he ships her off to rural Alberta, Mississippi to work in a clinic with Dr. Jake Parker. Jake dislikes the spoiled rich girl; Shayla can not understand why because she is smitten with him. In addition to being rich, banded to Mississipps, and Jake not liking her, Jakes' sister Pearline is doing everything under the sun to drive Shayla away from the clinic, Mississippi, and Jake. Seeing Shayla and Jake evolve into mature adults, and great doctors is enjoyable. Carmen Green has once again written a dynamic story which will make you cry, laugh, and say yes.
