Summary: Very Good
Review: I really did enjoy this book, Ms. Savoy is the type of author that knows how to keep you interested in her writing. I really did enjoy reading about Jarad and Ariel. Im glad that they got together although I knew they would but I liked the way Ms. Savoy stretched it out (their getting together.) Overall, it was a good read, and I will continue to read her literature...

Summary: Enchanting debut novel
Review: In the short time since Spellbound's publication, I have been truly surprised and pleased by the positive response it has generated. I have received so many wonderful reviews for Spellbound, and I was voted Best New Author of 1999 by the readers and reviewers of Romance in Color. This honor truly surprised me as Spellbound didn't come out until December!

I've also gotten so many letters from fans telling me how much they loved the story. As so many readers quipped, they were "spellbound" by Spellbound and simply couldn't put it down. Readers especially identify with the heroine, Ariel, who learns to love under the tender, patient tutelage of the hero, Jarad.

And so many readers have told me they love the setting--the island of Martha's Vineyard. It is a magical place, and the spot I first started writing romance over twenty years ago. Just last night I got an e-mail from a reader who told me a scene from Spellbound reminded her of her own fondest memories of the island--catching the rings at the Flying Horses carousel (of course Ariel and Jarad snag the brass one for themselves).

I'd like to thank all those readers who wished me well in my writing career. And for those of you who've asked when my next "masterpiece" is coming out, Once and Always will be published by BET/Arabesque in October 2000.

Thank you for purchasing Spellbound. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Summary: Spellbound is a wonderful debut novel
Review: Men who have been bewitched by the green-eyed Ludlow women, claim it takes only six days to fall completely under their spell. Then, you're in love forever. Spellbound is Deirdre Savoy's first novel. It is the story of New York psychologist Ariel Windsor, the last single female Ludlow descendant. Ariel is a "confirmed bachelorette" who doesn't quite believe in love, romance or marriage. Ariel mets filmmaker Jarad Naughton aboard a ferry headed for Martha's Vineyard. They are immediately attracted to each other. Ariel chooses to ignore Jarad and her feelings. And, when Jarad is told of the Ludlow curse, he doesn't believe he will fall madly in love with the prickly Ariel in the space of six days. Men who have fallen in love with other Ludlow women advise him to "run." Spellbound is a wonderful lighthearted romance. Like the late Harlem Renaissance writer Dorothy West who told stories about African Americans on Martha's Vineyard, Deirdre Savoy's Spellbound grew out of her experiences there. It's a wonderful start to her romance writing career.

Summary: A True Love Story
Review: Ms Savoy your debut novel is a definite winner! I truly love the sparks that are between Ariel and Jarad. You just never know how those childhood friends of yours will turn out as adults. In this case, Martha's Vineyard set a true romantic scene for the making of this couple. Even the other characters in this story added as a compliment to the overall flow of Spellbound. This was one of those comfortable romance novels that was an easy smooth reading and very, very romantic! If this debut novel, is a taste of your best writing skills, then we have so much to look forward to in the new millennium from you!
