Summary: Sleepless in Montana kept me up turning pages!
Review: If I wasn't a fan of Cait London's already, this book would have made me a convert. Hogan Kodiak grew up hard -- rock hard. He's used his past as an excuse to put a barrier between himself and the rest of the world, even his family. There's only one person who seems able to chip through his defenses, Jemma Delany. She's determined to bring the Kodiak family back together -- and that includes Hogan. But in the end, she does more than bring Hogan back, she let's him into her heart and Hogan, despite his best intentions, finds that Jemma's become the center of his existence. Woven throughout a fantastic love story is a mystery. Who attacked Hogan's sister years ago, and why is he still stalking her?

Cait London tells a page-turning tale of reconciliation -- the reconciliation of the past, the reconciliation of a family torn apart, and the reconciliation of two hearts meant to be together.

Summary: Sleepless In Montana
Review: Ignore the review from "Don't Bother". Sleepless in Montana is a really good book. At first, I thought I was not going to like it either, thought I was going to be irked with Jemma as she flitted around Hogan and tried to "fix" his family. I was wrong. She is one of the strongest zaniest heroines I've ever seen. The book is heart-warming and heart-wrenching with a whole lot of fun thrown in for good measure. The characters came to life; that's the true sign of a good book. It made me a permanent Cait London fan.

Summary: Romance Lovers' Delight
Review: Loved this book...once I started it couldn't put it down until finished. The characters were delightful. Hogan Kodiak, what a HUNK.

Summary: Too many characters to care
Review: Ms. London told the story of 4 romances in these 375 pages. She chose one of the weaker and more annoying ones as her main focus. This was the story of Jemma and Hogan, two misfits in their own families. They spend their lives in a snit at each other, deliberately rubbing each other the wrong way until the book starts and it's time for them to fall in love.

In my opinion the real story, the one with the most emotional impact, was Carley and Mitch's story. But it was underplayed for a manic heroine and a repressed hero. Now, when the lovescenes came, they were hot... but one shouldn't have to suffer through stilted dialogue, extraordinarily badly crafted scene changes and thinly drawn characters to read a few pages of good sex.

The first 150 pages of the book were crammed with too much information. We got to know the likes and habits of eight main characters, some of them not very likeable. There were three secondary characters in the entire book, they were all evil (presumably anyone who wasn't a main character was evil).

I've read other Cait London books and they were all right. Unless she changes her style, I won't be reading many more.

Summary: one of the worst
Review: SAVE YOUR MONEY. Tough, tedious read. So very poorly written, disjointed prose; dull, boring characters, too many plots-none developed well or fully enough. Luke-warm sex/love scenes.

As I was reading, so much didn't make sense to me. I kept thinking I was missing something and found myself re-reading pages. There really were little pieces of information missing; poor editing perhaps?

This book is unlike the other books I've read and enjoyed by Ms Logan/London.."Sleepless" has none of the warmth and humor and cohesiveness of her other books. I've heard that sometimes other people publish books under established names in the romance field. I wonder if this is one of those cases.

If you want to see how a book with three plots can be written successfully and enjoyably (as this one should have been written), read "montana sky" by Nora Roberts.

Summary: A definite keeper
Review: Sleepless in Montana by Cait London tells the story of the Kodiak family, a family forged by the land and secrets. Eighteen years before a monster had attacked one of them and now he had returned to their lives, determined to finish what he started. Brought together by Jemma, a woman who had adopted them for her own as a child, Ben, his ex-wife Dinah, his sons Hogan, Mitch and Aaron, daughter Carley and Jemma come together to form a living shield of protection. This family has to face and banish the very things that had pulled them apart so long ago, to learn to respect and love again the things that united them as a family. Murder, stalking, lies, truth, love and a woderful family drama are all here in this excellent story from Ms London. I expect a good story when I buy a book by Cait London. This one more than delivers. I started reading it at 11PM waiting for the meteor shower and finished it at 5AM, totally missing the meteors! A definite keeper for me.
