Rating: Summary: Wonderful Read Review: It's a fasinating love story. It really makes me want to search out more books about Austrailia. I'd like to find more books from Melissa James too. She immediately pulls the reader into the mystery. Jirrah has his job cut out for him helping Tessa. It soon becomes apparent their destiny is to be together. Wonderful book. Lots of emotion and well written.
Rating: Summary: Walk on the dark side Review: Melissa James brings you the kind of intense, emotional read you expect from an Intimate Moments, but her fresh, new voice sets her apart. As does this Aussie setting. Intrigue, obsession, and a love that wouldn't die -- this book has it all.

Rating: Summary: Her Galahad Review: Melissa James has tapped into the emotions surrounding Australia's less than stellar history with Her Galahad. Many readers may not know about Australia's prejudiced and checkered past concerning its indigenous population, but Melissa exposes it in its most heartwrenching form. With its twists and turns, it will keep you turning the pages to see what will happen next.
Rating: Summary: Jiraaaaaaaaaaah!!! Review: Reading the previous reviews, it looks like the author has a large family. Her Galahad was a chore to read, with every plot known to man thown in randomly in an effort to make the story interesting. I tried to visualise the love scenes but the combination of bucking, spasms, load roars of "Jirraaaaaaaah" and something about dolphins gave me a spasm of a different kind. LOL. Hey - maybe it was meant to be a comedy? In that case, keep up the good work! If readers are looking for a good Intimate Moments - maybe try Jill Shalvis.
Rating: Summary: A fantastic debut novel! Review: Tessa Earldon is running from her abusive second husband, when she's aided by her supposedly dead first husband. Together they try to unravel what happened seven years ago. They uncover the lies, find the truth...and find something else besides, a love that never died.Melissa James' debut novel is a fantastic journey with twists and turns...but mainly a story of a love that was meant to be.
Rating: Summary: Melissa James hits the mark Review: This is a wonderful book! Melissa James has taken us on an exciting journey as Jirrah and Tess work together to find their daughter. They have so much to overcome and Ms. James provides us with everything--their emotions as they deal with the terrible past events that tore them apart right after their marriage, the action and intrigue as they fight to stay ahead of their enemy, and the romance. Always the romance is paramount. Sigh. Thrilling to the end.
Rating: Summary: Disappointed reader Review: This review is based on only reading the first few chapters as frustration wouldn't allow me to continue. Tension is not created by the overuse of adjectives, overreactions and melodrama. Melissa, your idea was good, a pity it takes forever to wade through the waffle before you get to the point. Not only could I not finish it, but I'm tempted to return it to the publisher for a refund, just to make a point about respecting the readers.
Rating: Summary: A Note From The Author Review: With respect to the reader who hated my book, I wish readers to know that Her Galahad is based on the true stories I discovered in my university reader ("Aboriginal Australia", by Professor Richard Broome, Allen & Unwin, 1994). There are many books I could cite to show that these events happened not once but many times, and all in the one family. The Australian government has, in the past policy called "assimilation", handed fake death certificates to members of "The Stolen Generation" (Aboriginal children taken from their families by force). They were led to believe their parents were dead, so they wouldn't go back to find their family or their heritage. Those same girls were also given death certificates for their babies, and said babies were then adopted out to white families. This happened right up until the 1980s. This is documented history. The story of Tessa's mother is based on my grandmother's story. Thank you. Melissa James NB: I did not rate my book above what it currently is. I had to rate it to enter this "review".
Rating: Summary: Great book! And it's based on truth! Review: Wow! I just found out this book is based on a true story. It's hard for those of us in the United States to imagine such things could be possible. (although we've had some bad stuff in our checkered past as well) But this tale of prejudice, lies and lost love is based on things that actually happened in Australia. For a first book, Ms. James has given us a real treat in THE RESCUE DOWN UNDER. She has a strong, bold voice and is a treat to read. I can't wait for her next book!
