Summary: Fortune Cookie
Review: This book has three short stories: Double Trouble by Janice Kaiser, The Dream Doc by M.J. Rogers, and Dear Darcy by Margaret St. George. Harlequin Books S.A released this book in 1997. The main theme is about a restaurant called Destiny House with Madame Lu as the owner. It is said her restaurant has fortune cookies that come true. So three women get together and each gets a fortune cookie.
The first story, Double Trouble by Janice Kaiser is the best. The way it is written, it leaves you wishing to have an ending with it. Her ability of weaving sentences leaves you wanting more. She has an uncanny way of connecting her characters without losing you.
The second story, The Dream Doc by M.J. Rogers. Her use of medical terms is very fitting for the story and for real life. Her way of linking drama with real life research is incredible. But, she leaves the reader hanging at the end of the story because its like she didn't get a chance to finish it.
The third story, Dear Darcy by Margaret St. George. St. George's way of interchanging characters and their deceptions are amazing. She leaves you lost in the beginning by overlapping all the characters and their identities. By the end, she straightens everything out for anyone to understand.
This book intertwines all the stories with each having a base of the Destiny House and its Madame Lu. By the finish of this book you will have "lived through" all three stories.
